Position Purpose:
The role is embedded in a globally distributed inventory management technology team with presence in London, Hong Kong, Lisbon, Glasgow and Bengaluru. The aim of the team is to deliver a new state-of-the-art inventory management platform called AOS (Asset Optimization Services). The platform will be the basis for both manual and automated inventory management decisions, creating a global business by abstracting away from our entity structure and managing requirements across the group level. The technical stack includes Java, Spring, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, Apache Ignite, Angular.
Responsibilities
The candidate will report functionally into the global inventory management development lead, will be the line manager for the Bengaluru AOS development team and will work closely with the global development team.
The candidate will have demonstrable experience and knowledge of advanced streaming middleware technologies such as Apache Flink, Kafka, and Apache Ignite
The candidate is expected to proactively influence design, providing input on complex assignments developed both inside and outside their immediate project, and promoting good software development standards.
The candidate will act as a role model, supporting and fostering a culture of good conduct.
The candidate will demonstrate proactivity, transparency, and accountability in identifying and managing conduct risk.
The candidate will work closely with the regional managers of the team to ensure consistency of program goals, architecture, resource allocations & assignments, and people topics (career management, objectives, reviews).
The candidate will manage business demand and expectations for work and delivery of the work in alignment with budget and overall business direction and governance.
The candidate will be responsible for the full development of a project, from design to deployment in production.
The candidate will ensure end-deliverables are clearly defined and communicated, and that stakeholders are kept informed of each deliverable’s progress, issues, and risks.
The candidate will proactively manage risk and issues, escalating where appropriate, to ensure delivery progress is maintained.
The candidate will design solutions that align technology roadmaps to business strategy and conduct high-quality functional design, system, integration testing, and UAT.

The candidate should have experience working in a global team, aiding others through pair programming and knowledge sharing to help the team improve their development practices.
The candidate should demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They should possess a can-do attitude and be able to partner with others both inside and outside of the development team to investigate issues, drive conversations to find and agree on solutions, and communicate those solutions to a diverse set of stakeholders.
The candidate should be able to partner with business, developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to help shape the future platform.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
The candidate should have extensive experience in complex software development
The candidate will have demonstrable experience and advanced knowledge of modern streaming middleware technologies such as Kafka
The candidate is an expert in server-side java, highly concurrent programming.
The candidate should have experience working with SDLC automation tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Artifactory, and Jenkins.
The candidate should possess very strong technical skills, and be an advocate of test-driven development and delivery automation
Specific Qualifications:
Bachelor’s /Master’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent.
Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)
Technical Skills:
- Advanced experience in Java 17, 25, Spring framework
- Advanced experience with streaming, Apache Kafka
- Cache / Data Grid Middleware
Behavioral Skills:
- Work in an agile environment with frequent production releases.
Education Level: Masters or equivalent experience. At least 12+ years of relevant experience.
