Job Title: Assistant Manager

Department: Real Asset – Alt Credit

About Business line/Function: The Real Asset team will focus on Securitized & Structured Assets (SSA) Portfolio Management Support; Insurance Linked Securities (ILS) - Portfolio Data Analytics; Corporate Credit (CC) - Leverage Loan Fund Reporting; Credit (CC) – Leverage Loan Database Management; specifically in support of Structured Finance functions.

The Alternative Credit Insurance Linked Securities team provides critical operational and analytical support to the Insurance Linked Securities (ILS) team, focusing on management of the Ouranos database and execution of natural catastrophe modeling via Touchstone Re. 

Position Purpose: The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of CAT bonds, including price collection, instrument creation, risk metric re-computation and collateral monitoring. They will also be an experienced manager driving process improvements with a collaborative management style and ability to create a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  • High level of precision in data entry and ability to spot discrepancies in complex financial documents
  • Ability to extract complex information from offering circulars and translate it into structured data
  • Oversight and accountability for day-to-day processing of the team, ensuring excellent client service and risk management
  • Ability to consistently handle cyclical workloads and meet deadlines during peak issuance periods
  • Compliance with local and global regulations and market standards
  • Developing team members and creating an environment that encourages innovation and supports personal growth for team members 
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
  • Compilation of monthly statistics to manage the business, ensuring KPIs are met or remediation plans are in place
  • Ensure any deviation from our standard operating models are formally agreed internally and documented with the onshore oversight location

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the internal database for Alternative Credit ILS
  • Gather and report weekly and monthly pricing data provided by brokers.
  • Instrument Creation: Set up 40–50 new instruments annually and primarily during peak issuance windows
  • Utilize Touchstone Re to run natural catastrophe models and validate results
  • Upload Value at Risk (VaR) data from Touchstone Re into Ouranos database
  • Analyze offering circulars to extract relevant data and convert into standardized Excel formats
  • Regularly update market portfolios within Touchstone Re
  • CAT Bond Resets: Perform re-computation of risk metrics for approximately 140 active market deals using Touchstone
  • Review monthly collateral reports via Intralinks for Liquidity Class 1 deals and update Ouranos accordingly
  • Ad-hoc Support: Execute miscellaneous tasks as requested by the ILS team based on capacity

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, VBA) and strong data-management experience
  • Ability to liaise with multiple internal and external parties
  • Strong organisational and attention-to-detail orientation; capable of managing competing deadlines
  • Ability to investigate data gaps independently and escalate issues only after thorough investigation

  • Shift timing – 12:30 PM IST to 10:30 PM IST (09:00 AM to 07:00 PM Europe time)

Specific Qualifications:

  • A previous experience in a similar role is mandatory
  • Strong understanding of Insurance Linked Securities
  • Proficiency with applications - Bloomberg, Touchstone and advanced Excel

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Education Level:

  •  Degree qualified in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline is preferable.
  • Having market related qualifications such as CPA, CFA qualifications
