Job Title Compliance Data Governance Analysts _ AM

Department: India CoE Compliance Hub

About Business line/FunctionCompliance Hub - India CoE is dedicated to safeguarding the Group's reputation and mitigating risk across its global businesses by supporting a broad range of Compliance functions. The Hub serves as a strategic global partner to Compliance teams worldwide, delivering expertise in Financial Security (KYC, Sanctions, and AML), controls framework, conduct and professional ethics, data analytics and governance, and transformation initiatives including AI adoption. The Hub teams collaborate closely with Compliance and business stakeholders across the Group to drive efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance operational resilience.

Position PurposeThe Compliance Data Governance will operate within India CoE Compliance Hub, based in Mumbai and support as a team or individually on simultaneous initiatives involving data governance and technology automation.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Compliance beneficiaries, IT, Operations and Functions to support in delivery of fit-for-purpose data and analytics solutions. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and technical capability with a focus on data governance discipline

  • Direct Responsibilities
  • Support and coordinate data architecture and data-management initiatives aligned with CIB Compliance objectives and security requirements.
  • Perform data profiling, issue analysis, root-cause investigation and impact assessment; coordinate tactical remediation and contribute to strategic solutions.
  • Use SQL and Python to extract, transform, validate and analyse data; identify trends, anomalies, risks and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintain data lineage, mappings, transformation logic, data dictionaries, catalogues, runbooks and requirements documentation.
  • Build clear, interactive dashboards and management information using Power BI or equivalent tools to support operational and management decision-making.
  • Translate business and Compliance requirements into BRDs, functional specifications, solution designs, user stories and test scenarios.
  • Coordinate UAT, defect follow-up, deployment readiness and change-management activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of concise presentations, KPI/KRI and project updates for management, sponsors and governance committees.
  • Support audit, regulatory, annual assessment and control-testing requests by providing traceable evidence and well-maintained documentation.
  • Identify automation opportunities that improve process efficiency, control effectiveness and productivity

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned deliverables, priorities, dependencies and stakeholder expectations across simultaneous initiatives.
  • Proactively communicate risks, issues, bottlenecks and remediation plans to local and global stakeholders.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, documentation discipline and consistent data-governance practices within the team.
  • Maintain a strong Compliance mindset and follow applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and information-security requirements.
  • As needed from time to time, you will be required to
    • support in maintenance of data-quality controls, business rules and documentation to improve the accuracy, completeness and consistency of critical Compliance data
    • Contribute to advanced analytics, machine-learning or AI use cases, including predictive analysis and natural-language-processing applications, where relevant to Compliance.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong Python, Git, SQL, Power BI skills. Hands on experience in Data governance.
  • Understanding of data quality concepts (i.e. data controls, data profiling, data lineage).
  • System analysis and data tracing skills to identify root causes, assess impacts and resolve data-integrity issues.
  • Analytical and investigative skills; analyses complete datasets and recommends tactical and strategic solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an eye for detail. Should be able to interact effectively with cross-Functional teams

Good to have

  • Project Management fundamentals
  • Exposure to Dataiku, Agile delivery methods or version-control practices, Tableau, is desirable.
  • Experience in AML/CTF across Global Banking, Global Markets, sanctions or payments, including the definition and monitoring of relevant KPIs and KRIs
  • Experience supporting audits, regulatory requests, control assessments or remediation programmes is an advantage.

Specific Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelors degree.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Analytics, data governance, data management
