What is this position about?
• Assist team head to provide financial accounting and reporting services, ensuring compliance to financial accounting requirements and local regulations.
• This involves (a) ensuring compliance with local regulations and legislation for Tax, Legal and with Group regulations defined in policies, procedures, rules and standards, with a particular focus on first level Permanent Control; and (b) ensuring regulatory reporting is prepared accurately and delivered on a timely basis.
What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like?
Primary Role Responsibilities
• Project management & System Development:
o Act as expert on different Finance systems (OFS, Poseidon, Flexel, etc) and provide support to other team members in exploring the concerned systems.
o Perform efficiency and quality review, propose/implement additional controls and/or system/process changes.
o Follow up with various stakeholders on the required system developments and controls implementation.
o Manage different Finance projects ensuring local regulatory impact will be addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Regulatory reporting:
o Contribute to the preparation of regulatory reports ensuring they are prepared accurately and delivered timely in accordance with the rules and regulations.
o Contribute to the production of statistical data and financial surveys required by regulators and/or other statistical board on a timely and accurate manner.
o Contribute to information to be provided to HKMA case officer for queries on regular and ad hoc basis.
o Contribute to the analysis of system or process changes needed for new HKMA returns / surveys for any regulatory changes and implement new requirements by system changes, revise the respective procedures.
o Ensure first level controls on local regulatory reporting are properly implemented and executed.
o Contribute to the maintenance of proper procedure manuals for regulatory reporting.
o Contribute to UAT on any changes to Flexel or any other finance system.
o Support ad hoc process improvement and other projects assigned by the team head.
Other contributions
o Contribute to the banking returns audit under section 63(3) and 63(3A) of Banking Ordinance.
o Ensures audit recommendations are resolved within the specific timeline.
o Assist in provision of internal data / management report to senior management / other stakeholders.
o Work with project teams to identify the project needs and deliverables in alignment with overall Group programme objective.
o Be responsible for performing regulatory reporting control assessments and enhancement as well as preparing required documentation.
o Acting as the back-up role to the absence of other teammates.
What is required for you to succeed?
Technical and Behavioral Competencies
• Strong accounting knowledge
• Knowledge on regulatory reporting requirements (including liquidity and banking exposure returns). Knowledge on LCR/NSFR will be an advantage.
• Exposure to different banking products (GM, GB, WM, etc)
• Good understanding of different Finance system architecture
• Strong analytical and ability to synthesize and simplify

Education/Certification/Licenses
• CPA along with a relevant degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in financial or regulatory reporting in sizable banking institution
• Experience in report automation projects such as workflow re-engineering / streamline existing process is an advantage
• Skilled in data extraction and analysis
• Fluency in English
