BUSINESS AREA / DEPT OVERVIEW
BNP Paribas’ Global Markets business offers a broad range of products and services in the global interest rates, credit, currency, equities & commodity markets. Global Markets help their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk. Their client base comprises of hundreds of corporations, institutional investors, banks, governments, and supranational organizations. Global Markets has the scale and reach to conduct business anywhere in the world and deliver products denominated in almost all of the world’s currencies. Their global network comprises more than 1,700 professionals working on our six main trading floors in London, Hong Kong, New York, Paris, Singapore, and Tokyo. They are supported by regional offices throughout Europe, the Americas, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides excellent support in relation to transformation initiatives under COO transversal scope within the COO Office Transformation in managing, with solid experience and good understanding, the relevant factors impacting the area of the business within their specific scope as well as Global Markets as a whole. Applies knowledge to perform complex tasks and solve issues in creative and effective ways.
• Focuses on initiatives, which are defined as follows:
- Complex and large programs with substantial impact on organization, key processes, cost base;
- Topics that are on senior management agenda with high priority and closely monitored by a GM board member;
- Topics that require extensive interactions and alignment with numerous stakeholders within Global Markets and rest of CIB;
- Topics that require internal and/or external consulting support (e.g. CIB Consulting & Transformation, GM Drive).
• Co-ordinates with relevant internal teams where required. Manages relationships with all relevant internal stakeholders to facilitate such workstreams.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Experience in project management environment.
• Understanding of the key challenges for Global Markets COO perimeter.
• Knowledge of CIB business lines and functions set-up, including key stakeholders.
• Capacity to generate ideas to help initiatives progress.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and continuously changing environment.
• Strong analytical skills and a good ability to synthesize.
• Comfortable with transversal responsibilities.
• Ability to lead various topics in parallel.
• Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Good stakeholder management experience.
• Active listening skills.
