Job Purpose

To assist in managing our current portfolios of US structured finance funds (including hedge funds and long-only mandates), providing portfolio management support on some funds while taking a leadership role on more straightforward ones, and contributing to the development of new funds for our platform.

Key Accountabilities

  • Portfolio Management: Oversee long-only portfolios or sleeves in collaboration with analysts and all relevant stakeholders (operations, risk, compliance, etc.). Implement investment objectives defined in conjunction with clients and deploy capital by weighing analysts' recommendations, market timing, and risk/return considerations.
  • Monitoring & Reporting : Assist in the management and monitoring of portfolios of US structured finance instruments. Prepare comprehensive reports for the funds, specifically in the areas of risk and performance, by generating and updating reports on a monthly basis.
  • Marketing: Create marketing materials that reflect up-to-date performance and relevant economic data to support the platform's marketing efforts.
  • Research: Conduct market research, attend conferences, perform manager due-diligences and and analyze specific assets and asset classes held by the fund, in an effort to better understand them and provide timely/relevant information.
  • Supervise Operations: Manage daily operations for the funds (such as trade booking), oversee the middle office, and review monthly valuation reports prepared by the administrator.
  • Lead operational / structuring projects: Drive operational improvements & structuring projects (negotiation of financing and derivatives contracts), maintaining fund positions in systems and supervising fund expenses. 
  • Launch New Funds:  Participate in the development of new products for our US platform. This includes designing pitches and presentations, modeling portfolios, engaging with clients to understand their needs, and evolving into the portfolio manager role for newly launched products.

Role Requirements

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Engineering or a related field.


Experience

  • About 2 to 4 years ideally in Structured Finance or Fixed Income, High Yield


Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Result oriented with a growth mentality
  • Proficiency in Fixed Income financial modelling and data analysis
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The pay range for this position is from $90000 to $145 000. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
