Securities Services is a leading global custodian and securities services specialist that provides multi-asset post-trade and asset servicing solutions for buy and sell-side market participants, corporates and issuers.
The Head of Institutional Investors (Asset Managers, Asset Owners & Alternative Investors) for the UK and Middle East region has overall responsibility for the management of the respective Client Lines within the perimeter of the role, and to ensure that the local Client Line teams are organised in order to drive the strategy and value proposition for our clients with a view to generate sustainable and profitable growth in the respective client lines and regions.
The specific purpose of the position is to organise and lead the following team structure:
• Go-To-Market Strategy which includes the articulation and promotion of our global strategy and value proposition for each regional Client Line
• Products & Solutions designing the business operating models and client experience and driving related development to maximise the P&L of products, adapting to client needs.
• Product Management Framework, ensuring that product capabilities are fully aligned with Compliance, Risk and Conduct policies and develop standard product management practices
• Client Digital Experience, designing a combination of solutions to deliver an end-to-end user experience that exceeds clients’ expectations
• Strategic Client Integration, ensuring a consistent and efficient integration of new strategic business
The post holder is a permanent member of the regional Management Committee. The role has risk reporting and escalation responsibilities for the respective product sets and client solutions within the perimeter.
Job purpose
Purpose & Scope of the position:
• Management of all Client Line managers and teams within the perimeter of the role·
• In conjunction with the regional Management Committees and global teams, develop, maintain and manage the regional and global strategic models
• Ensure there is appropriate management reporting and representation at the respective governance committees
• Ensure plans are maintained to support BNP Paribas Securities Services business, priorities and future business development
Key responsibilities
• Implementation of the global business delivery model taking into account consideration of local specifics including client, market and regulatory obligations.
• Analyse Securities Services positioning in the region and articulate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats
• Articulate a consistent & prioritised development plan for the region, aligned to global ambitions, strategic focus & priorities and ensure it is properly executed
• Identify and prioritise strategic growth opportunities in the region and ensure regional development plans are aligned to global ambition and integrate regional dynamics – in coordination with GTM global teams
• Develop and validate local Go-To-Market strategies for the respective Client Lines ensuring they take into account local specificities
• Influence global value proposition for each Client Line and align regional value proposition to global principles, ensuring it answers specific current and future clients’ critical business issues in the region and ensuring it differentiates Securities Services versus regional competition
• Identify needs for new solutions/ product capabilities in the region taking into account local inputs and influence global roadmap
• Influence business operating and client experience models defined at global level, and ensure proper roll-out at regional level
• Lead definition of client prices in the region, in line with global pricing policies
• Define regional financial objectives for each Client Line, detailing regional objectives at country level, steering and reporting progress for the region versus objectives
• Take responsibility for the regional Client Line P&L management, fully taking risks into account and ensuring full alignment with global Client Line P&L objectives
• Animate the local Client Lines team and ensure most efficient distribution of resources across the region
• Promote new solutions/ products in the region in collaboration with Client Development and other regions, through sales campaigns when required
• Provide clients/prospects /market influencers with superior insight on value proposition and thought leadership through participation in client meetings in coordination with Client Development (with a primary focus on strategic opportunities in the region) and participation to industry events and conferences
• Contribute to the good governance of Securities Services in the UK through membership of the Securities Services UK Management Committee
Requirements
Essential
• Proven & relevant experience in leading financial services teams (including strategic planning, commercial negotiation, p&l management)
• Excellent understanding of the securities services industry and its trends
• Strong working knowledge & experience within risk management
• Excellent networking skills, ability to co-ordinate internal and external stakeholders and negotiate solutions, client facing skills.
• Excellent decision making skills along with strong leadership skills
Preferred
• One or more additional languages including French
• UK recognised financial qualification
• Experience of working with regulatory bodies in the UK or elsewhere
