ABOUT THE JOB

MISSION 

You will contribute to the growth of Securities Services, maintaining our leadership position as 1st European player and the 5th worldwide.  In Spain, our leadership in settlement and clearing is well recognised by our clients and the industry (Top performer over the last 32 years - Global Custodian Survey).

Within Securities Services, Client Lines were created years ago to provide innovative and customised solutions to main client segments: Financial Intermediaries and Corporates (FI&C), Asset Owners (Insurance companies), Asset Managers and Alternatives (Private Capital).

FI&C Client Line is the business line specialised in providing solutions to Banks, Brokers and Corporates (Issuers). We are responsible for articulating and executing FI&C local strategy in full alignment with the global & region ambitions, strategic focus and priorities. Under our perimeter, we are responsible for proactively identify development opportunities for the following products: local clearing & custody, global custody, corporate trust services and cash management & liquidity services.

The purpose of the role is to manage global custody Spain solutions as Product Manager supporting the Head of Global Custody Product in Spain to achieve our product objectives. Global custody product is specialised on providing solutions to clients for managing their investments in foreign securities in terms of settlement and asset servicing (including tax services, proxy voting, class actions, etc.) working closely with our Global Product Teams in Paris and other locations.

As part of your role, you will be responsible to follow and manage the product roadmap in accordance with the defined strategy agreed with the Head of GC Product Spain in coordination with IT, projects and operations teams. For that purpose, you will need to have the capacity to manage priorities, coordinate different stakeholders, identify risks and propose appropriates solutions. As well, you will work closely with our Sales team to gather clients’ needs to proactively identifying the best solution that fits with their requirements, participating in the operational model design and pricing proposals. Furthermore, you will continuously monitor the market, regulatory and competitive environment in connection with market infrastructures and regulators.

In addition, as part of FI&C Client Line you will proactively contribute to achieving our local strategy which requires deep knowledge of other solutions/products to identify and promote cross-selling opportunities. Therefore, you will also work with Central Market and Financial Services team (forex and securities lending opportunities), Global Markets to expand our Execution to Custody offer and you will be involved as well in ESG and Digital initiatives for Global Custody. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Please find below the specific duties linked to this position:

Product development and maintenance:

•    Developing and maintaining product solutions working with Client Development to anticipate and address the market’s needs on an ongoing basis, create the market-leading solution for our target market segments; design and agreement of tactical solutions for new service requirements; proactively identifying product development opportunities, building business cases and sponsoring

•    Writing business cases, and product approval documents for any new product or service in English/Spanish

•    Developing and maintaining global custody product and services enhancements.

•    Developing and maintaining pricing models, pricing guidelines, setting pricing strategy; reviewing and approving financial proposals

Sales support:

•    Training and support for the sales and relationship management teams 

•    Direct involvement in certain aspects of the sales process

•    Supporting Client Development in maintaining data on client and the competition.

•    Assessing and planning new requirements from existing clients in conjunction with Client Development.

•    Industry watch: sourcing, compiling and interpreting information on pertinent developments within industry bodies and services (e.g. the regulators, market depositories/clearers, central banks, consultants) in conjunction with Client Development.

•    Product training and support to the sales and relationship management teams, including clients when required

•    Follow up service delivery with Client Development to maintain/enhance client satisfaction levels and to preserve/enhance BNP Paribas’s market reputation.

Product P&L management:

•      Monitoring and managing product profitability

•      Managing unit costs with operations to enable BNP Paribas to be competitive;

•      Participate in the Budget preparation and follow up the Global Custody product P&L.

New Business & market changes management: 

•    New business proposals: approving, pricing, terms, service specification, developing proposals for clients together with Client Development for larger/complex deals;

•    New business contract negotiations (depending on the complexity this can be limited to support legal department in determining the bank’s position on sticking points)

•    Monitor, analyse and identify any impact and business requirement coming from market changes (global & local)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Studies: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Economy
  • Experience: 3-5 Experience. Preferably, Securities Services experience or knowledge will be very valuable (Ops, project, other transversal departments such as on-boarding, billing, risk, compliance, etc.). If not, experience as project manager is required.
  • Languages: Writing & oral communication skills in English (B2, C1) & Spanish
