Job Title: <Market Abuse Surveillance Quality Assurance Analyst - AM>

Department: <COMPLIANCE Hub – India CoE-MAS QA>

About Business line/Function: <COMPLIANCE Hub India CoE enables safeguarding the Group’s reputation and mitigating the risks across all business lines by supporting the CPL functions globally. Currently, the India CoE Hub offers services to Group CPL COO TOP, quality assurance (trade & e-comm. surveillance, financial security), transversal risk management, personal account dealing, KYC compliance, MIS, and project support. The team collaborates closely with business partners worldwide. This role will provide opportunities to interact with all business and functional teams, offering significant visibility across the organization.>

Position Purpose: <The purpose of this position is to evaluate on a sample basis the execution of various controls in place within EMEA CIB Market Abuse Surveillance (MAS) as part of the EMEA CIB Surveillance Trade Quality Assurance Program (“Trade QA”) & E-Communications Quality Assurance Program (“E-Comms QA”), in line with Group Risk Management framework and as part of the EMEA CIB Quality Assurance Oversight Program.

EMEA CIB Front Office Conduct Surveillance (FOCS or 1LOD) and Compliance Market Abuse Surveillance (MAS or 2LOD) are responsible for conducting surveillance reviews that are intended to detect potentially suspicious behavior including potential violations, problematic patterns or practices and other concerns that may be in contravention of securities regulations and/or BNP Paribas (“BNPP” or the “Firm”) policies. 

In support of the CIB Market Abuse Surveillance program, the objective of the Trade & E-Communications Quality Assurance Program (Trade & E-Comms QA) is to review the evaluation and investigation of trade and e-comms surveillance alert execution. In conducting this evaluation, QA will determine the extent to which CIB Surveillance teams sitting within both Lines of Defence have complied with applicable policies, procedures, standards and guidance materials issued by the Bank and applicable regulatory requirements.>

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

<· Conduct reviews of Trade and e-Communication (E-com) Surveillance carried out to assess compliance with legal, regulatory and internal Bank policy requirements.

· Escalate potential issues and exception items to respective Compliance management and Front Office Conduct and Surveillance (FOCS) team

· Prepare reports to Senior Management detailing review findings and action plans; report on significant activities conducted and planned.

· Anticipate regulatory requirements and ensure the requirements are met within Surveillance teams.

· Lead working groups that focus on enhancing controls/quality of the Trade and E-com Surveillance programme.

· Conduct investigations.

· Input to the drafting of QA reports to present trends and observations noted during the evaluation of alerts. Design and deliver a structured training covering surveillance tools, review procedures, data‑quality standards, as needed.

· Leads and coordinates training initiatives as needed.

· Develops and delivers Steering‑Committee inputs and briefings to senior management, as needed.

· Provide day-to-day assistance and support to other members of the QA team.

· Work on projects as requested, including efficiencies and automations. Ensure relevant procedures, systems and controls are up to date and effective, and identify / facilitate remedial action where necessary.

· Assisting in regulatory and internal investigations as assigned by the Compliance Management Team

· Assist in preparing management information and reporting regarding surveillance and monitoring activities

· Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competency.>

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

<· At least 11 years’ experience in banking /financial industry.

· Automation skillset useful. 

· Professionally qualified Compliance professional with expert level of knowledge and experience in market abuse surveillance.

· Professional experience in a Compliance Market Abuse surveillance role in the financial services sector, ideally in a UK FCA regulated banking organisation.

· Good working knowledge of Compliance procedures, and UK regulations and legislation.

· Knowledge of relevant digital and Artificial Intelligence matters and latest industry risks and trends

· Proficient knowledge of the exchange rules covering; securities, listed options, commodities and futures.

· Proficient knowledge of European regulation on Market Abuse, MAD MAR, MiFID 2;

· Strong bank/broker-dealer operational experience and understanding.

· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate technical concepts and provide specialist guidance and advice to others.

· Proven ability to write procedures and internal guidelines

· Proven communication and relationship management skills and experience of relationships at senior management levels.

· Strong computer skills and a good knowledge of common software e.g. Microsoft Office. Experience using Compliance software.

· Ability to think strategically and analytically; Can utilise this experience to undertake investigations>

Specific Qualifications:

  • Capital Markets Certifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, in some type of investment banking discipline.>
