2027 APAC Long Internship (January to June) – Securities Services – Hong Kong

For: Undergraduate students in any disciplines from a recognized university
 Duration: 6 months 

Start date: January 2027
 Location: Hong Kong

Induction
 You will be provided with a comprehensive induction, where you will be immersed in group training and discover more about the BNP Paribas Group.

Training
 From day one, you will start your business specific technical and financial training, alongside personal skills development aimed at equipping you with the knowledge you need to get you the best possible start in your career. Working alongside our teams of industry leading specialists, you will gain on-the-job training throughout your 6 months programme taking you along a development path to build your expertise and broaden your base of skills. 

What you will do?

As a CAO intern, you will: 

Provide with business support to the HK-based CAO offices (both Local and Regional) and on various Organization and Governance topics, including coordination of in/outsourcing arrangement, procurement contracts arrangements, expenses payments, other general corporate governance activities as well as provide business support in respect of transversal projects.

Outsourcing / Insourcing Governance:

  • Assisting in co-ordination of outsourcing and insourcing arrangements, including management of authorized delegations, update and monitor Service Level Agreements; ensuring outsourced process owners follow the outsourcing procedures diligently, respecting the ongoing monitoring requirements.
  • Ensuring and maintaining records of outsourced / insourced activities including Service Level Agreements and other supporting documents (in shared folders, SharePoint, 360 Arrangement, ARGOS V2 etc.).
  • Conducting and coordinating the 1LoD and 2LoD Outsourcing controls (GCL).

Monitoring of Procurement activities and Vendor Contracts:

  • Ensuring all required documents for each procurement are received and properly recorded.
  • Ensuring a clear mapping of all vendor contracts and that such contracts and supporting documents are properly stored (in shared folders, ARIBA etc...)
  • Assisting vault management (register of vault key/pin, pin updates etc.)

Expense Monitoring

  • Providing administrative support relating to invoice payments
  • Implementation of a proper control framework for expenses (direct and indirect), including:
    • monitoring of year-to-date expenses & intercompany recharges against budgets & other agreed amounts,
    • ensuring such payments are approved by the appropriate business partners.

General Corporate Governance & Administration:

  • Maintaining up-to-date SharePoint sites to ensure information and supporting documents for the responsible matters are accessible and retrievable by business managers.
  • Involvement in review and implementation of various transversal procedures
  • Other projects and support to the CAO office.

As a Client Delivery intern, you will:

The intern will be integrated within the Hong Kong Client Delivery Team of Securities Services and

will be supporting a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  1. Support for COO / Head of Client Delivery
  • Supporting the head of Client Delivery with their responsibilities (e.g. presentation preparation, headcount analysis, meeting arrangements etc.)
  1. Alternatives & Fund Services Operations.
  • Contributing to the onboarding process for new business
    • Assisting with the set-up of report schedulers, pricing matrix, fund facts sheet based on fund prospectus etc.
  • Service level agreement updates
    • Co-ordinating the update of client service level agreements, working together with operation team leads and the client services team.
  • Projects 
    • Running and participating to efficiency or organisational projects, new system roll-out, specifically in the Hedge Funds Investor Services department

As a Client Development intern, you will: 

  • Work closely with Sales support for preparation of new and existing sales client due diligence slides etc.
  • Partner Sales and Relationship Managers in client facing meetings, follow ups, reports
  • Responsible for assisting the local Sales and RM team:
    • deals and pipeline updates and reporting using Client Vision
    • logistics for internal and external meetings/ presentations and RFPs
    • manage invitations and responses for client events liaising with Global Markets and senior bankers
    • manage distribution of mass client communications and marketing materials
  • Support regional forums/ meetings with stakeholders (e.g. Client Development meetings) – including preparation of decks and liaison with offshore BP2S offices.
  • Support Relationship Managers in completing client onboarding and recertification (KYC) due diligence; as well as billing setup and prioritize with invoicing centre
  • Assist Sales and Relationship Managers in managing legal documents execution including completion of signature request form.
  • Responsible for the seamless delivery of Client Development governance controls oversight and controls related projects, support and participate in formulating key strategic client account plans, etc
  • Drive and facilitate business acceptance committee (BAC) approval meetings including quality control of BAC forms, minutes and all related documents for BAC requests for Singapore as booking centre supporting all regional buying locations in Asia including HK, Japan, China and Korea. This includes liaising and coordinating with the Sales / Relationship Managers in North and South Asia.
  • Ad hoc tasks on operational issues and data reconciliation from the Central team

As a Financial Institutions & Corporates (FI&C) Client Line and Alternatives Investor Client Line intern, you will: 

Supporting the 2 the FI&C Client Line and Alternatives Investor Client Line APAC teams, in strategic analysis and product development While supporting the FI&C Client Line you will:

  • Support market, client, and competitor analyses
  • Assist in preparing presentations, pricing, and pitch materials
  • Contribute to strategic notes, dashboards, and management presentations
  • Support the Client Line and the product team in their coordination with, Coverage, Operations, IT, Compliance, and Legal teams on the subjects/projects they are working on
  • Assist in tracking regional initiatives and initiatives and regional action plans

While supporting the Alternatives Investor Client Line you will:

  • Assist to implement business plan in line with regional AI model;
  • Provide support to Business Development and Alternatives Management in the implementation of the new target operating model;
  • Support and contribute to the Product Managers, Regional Head of Private Capital and Head of APAC AI Client Line in preparing for services, marketing effort, including sales pitch books, marketing material, presentations and event preparations;
  • Provide assistance on the preparation for engagements with Regional and Global management committee meetings;
  • Follow Product procedures, guidelines, and policies;
  • Develop expertise in products and services;
  • Work closely with our product owners to create strategies to increase adoption and improve product alignment;
  • Work closely with Product to detect trends and build training;
  • Acts as focal point/liaison for Product team inquiries and issues; and take appropriate action to respond or correct.

As a Sustainable Finance intern, you will: 

Support directly the head of Sustainable Finance APAC, the APAC digital asset lead and the Hong Kong Chief of Staff.

Assist the Head of Sustainable Finance APAC in driving the sustainable finance agenda across the region. Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the development and execution of the Sustainable Finance strategy across Asia Pacific.
  • Conducting market intelligence and research on sustainability trends, regulations, industry initiatives, and ESG best practices.
  • Assisting in engagements with financial institutions and other stakeholders on their sustainability journeys, including sustainable investing, climate, biodiversity, and responsible business practices.
  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of BNP Paribas Securities Services' ESG and sustainable finance product offering.
  • Preparing client materials, presentations, market analyses, and thought leadership content on sustainable finance topics.
  • Supporting internal awareness initiatives and strategic projects related to sustainability and responsible business practices.

The internship provides exposure to a broad range of sustainable finance topics and offers the opportunity to take ownership of specific projects contributing to BNP Paribas' sustainability ambitions across APAC.

As a Digital Assets Intern

The intern will also support the APAC Digital Assets lead and contribute to the development of BNP Paribas Securities Services' capabilities in this rapidly evolving space. Responsibilities may include:

  • Acting as a central point for market intelligence by monitoring developments across digital assets, tokenisation, digital cash, blockchain infrastructure, and regulation.
  • Conducting research on market trends, industry participants, emerging technologies, and competitive developments.
  • Supporting strategic initiatives related to Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and the transformation of post-trade and securities servicing activities.
  • Assisting in the preparation of internal briefings, presentations, and analysis for senior management and clients.
  • Identifying opportunities and implications for financial institutions arising from the adoption of digital assets and blockchain-based market infrastructure.
  • Supporting engagement with internal and external stakeholders involved in digital asset initiatives.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to one of the most significant transformations underway in financial markets, as blockchain technology and digital assets reshape the way securities are issued, traded, settled, and serviced.

As supporting the Chief of Staff for the location, the intern will support in the preparation and execution of the following:

  • Quarterly production of reports (excel or PowerPoint) related to staff training, Travel and expenses follow-up, holidays for the Executive Management…).
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Governance document for the entity (committees).
  • Overall general administrative management for the office (liaising with Procurement and Facilities).
  • Coordination in the frame of transversal topics under the leadership of the Chief of Staff (licensing and registration with HKMA for overseas staff coming to Hong Kong, implementation of local KYS/ KYX framework within the location…).
  • Support in the various well-being projects among Securities Services Hong Kong (proposal of new ideas, coordination with internal and external stakeholders...).
