Arval Group results for 2005: a benchmark year for commercial activity

The Arval Group (www.arval.com) is an international name in the long-term leasing and management of company vehicles. In 2005, it continued to roll out the development strategy for its international network by deciding to open two new operational units.
In a favourable context for the European long-term leasing market, in 2005 the Arval Group again posted a very significant increase in activity. Its market share increased in the majority of countries in which it operates.
Arval is the leader for leasing in France and second-placed in Europe, with a total of 468,845 vehicles leased in 2005 (+8.3% compared with 2004) and a total of 606,843 managed vehicles (+0.8%). These results were achieved in a highly competitive market, made particularly difficult by the very marked drop in the price of second-hand cars on most European markets.
2005 thus saw the continuing development of the Group's activity as well as the establishment of new operating units in two high-potential countries: Brazil and Russia. These two new entities will commence operations in 2006, their principal role being to support international clients.
The French subsidiary, Arval France, recorded a good commercial year in line with forecasts, with 58,758 new vehicles on the road (+14% compared with 2004), thus increasing its financed fleet by 4% to total 169,572 vehicles at the year-end, and making Arval the leader on the French market.
In a European market that should see its fleet of financed vehicles increase by around 4 to 5%, Arval fully intends, for yet another year, to substantially outperform, including in countries where the company already has a strong market share.
