Women’s Empowerment: awards to 8 films
Every year since 1995, the Mobile Film Festival has revealed talented young filmmakers from across the world, through its 1 Mobile, 1 Minute, 1 Film concept.
This year, the festival challenged future filmmakers on the theme of “Women’s Empowerment”. Result: 1,130 films from 101 countries, 57% of which were made by women. A record number of participants, countries and women directors!
Today, the Mobile Film Festival announces the 8 winning films for 2020. Through strong and varied subjects, such as the professional world, education, forced marriage, history or sport, the 8 prize winners were able to express their sensitivity and commitment to the cause of women. These films, made in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, propose solutions for women’s self-help in order to accelerate women’s empowerment.
