Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets transports us into the 28th century to the galactic and cosmopolitan city of Alpha. Two space cops Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) must thwart a terrorist plot threatening the future of the universe… On the agenda: suspense, stunning special effects and all the cinematic genius of Luc Besson in an extraordinary production.

BNP Paribas & Valerian: a shared ambition
The director’s entrepreneurial ambition won over BNP Paribas, both for his bold creative vision and the innovative technologies used to portray the story of Valerian and Laureline on screen.
The partnership with Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is the perfect chance for the bank to share its vision for the future: a positive vision driven by a culture of innovation and technological agility in the service of its customers, prospects and employees, both in France and worldwide.
All throughout the film’s production cycle, BNP Paribas has worked with Luc Besson and his teams to create a series of exclusive and unique experiences to immerse viewers in the world of Valerian. For the film’s release, the bank has donned the colours of Valerian while offering a leap to the year 2740: exclusive content on www.valerian.bnpparibas, special banking services, transformation of the Paris metro, online games, sneak peeks, private screenings and more. Each of these physical and digital experiences takes participants on a journey through the future of science fiction, which was first imagined in the 1970s but has taken on its full meaning in today’s society.
