V&RC are looking to hire a Valuations Analyst to work in Valuations with a focus on credit and interest rate instruments. We are looking for someone who has experience working in the credit and rates business in a valuations team.  A successful candidate will be expected to specialize in price testing and the responsibilities will include;


  • Running a number of different price testing reviews (MAPs) including CDS, Bonds & YC’s. Knowledge of MRX, proven VBA skills and familiarity with RAMP are essential for this.
  • Work within a limited time frame as part of a team and produce accurate month end corrections. This might require discussion and timely conclusions with the Front Office and Risk-GM related to the quality and accuracy of the MAP reviews.
  • Produce accurate reports highlighting coverage and results of MAPS
  • Documenting methodologies for MAP reviews proposed by Risk-GM whilst at the same time constructively challenging the present policy and looking for improvements.
  • Various projects to automate and/or improve our systems with the assistance of IT. This will require a strong working knowledge of RefCAP, GARDS and CDS Checker and the ability to write precise specifications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other Product Control teams, Front Office, Middle Office, Finance and Risk-GM based on trust, respect and professionalism.
  • Support the Transversal Control team when required and build additional controls that can be handed over to them. This will require a working knowledge of FORMA and experience in risk control environment. 
  • Contribute to other initiatives within the V&RC function, both within the region and in other locations.
  • Sharing skills and ideas across the group along with providing occasional internal training for junior staff.
  • MAP reviews of some IR/FX product and involvement in the Risk controls and related projects.
  • V&RC cover all asset classes (FI, EQD & CIT) and the willingness to move between them and build product knowledge is expected Familiarity with the systems is essential


Essential Experience and must have skills.

  • Familiarity with the risk systems described above.
  • Good product knowledge across credit derivatives, especially CDS, ABS and CLOs.
  • Strong Excel skills including strong functional VBA.
  • Familiarity with common areas of financial mathematics complemented by knowledge of market practice.
  • A good understanding of the pros and cons of different market standard price testing methodologies for a number of asset classes.
  • Familiarity with various consensus services used across banks, in particular contributing to MarkIT for FX & IR Vol along with Yield curves is required.
  • The ability to find workaround solutions in the time available.
