Department Overview
BNP Paribas’ Global Markets business offers a broad range of products and services in the global interest rate, credit, currency, equities & commodity markets. Global Markets help their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk. Their client base comprises of hundreds of corporations, institutional investors, banks, governments and supranational organizations.
Global Markets has the scale and reach to conduct business anywhere in the world and deliver products denominated in almost all of the world’s currencies. Overall Job Purpose


As part of Global Markets Regulatory Projects Team and in close cooperation with the Global Markets Regulatory Affairs team, the primary role of a senior regulatory projects manager is to contribute to the impact assessment of new regulations on business, drive the implementation of those regulations for Global Markets, ensure coordination with business and functions and consistency across regions and GBLs.


General Regulatory Projects Manager responsibilities & objectives


The role encompasses the following responsibilities:

·         Support Global Markets Business Management to align Global markets organization with new regulatory requirements by providing them with the necessary information and clarity to determine implementation priorities and to help businesses better understand the impact of new regulations. This ensures that Global Markets can respond to new regulations by adhering to them as much as possible from the day they become enforceable, can manage conflicts between regulations, and can make decisions on investments in order to adapt to the new environment.

·         Identify conflicts between regulations or any other transversal issue or disconnect (for example between dependent projects)

·         Implement regulatory projects to ensure Global Markets conformity with the new regulations

·         Contribute to maintain a central Global Markets repository of documents relating to each major regulation in scope

·         Work closely with Global Markets trading and sales heads, GBLs and local Business Management and other internal business partners (Global Markets Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Legal, GRM and ITO), and act as an key contact point where necessary on Regulatory aspects

·         Promote when relevant the standardization of practices across all Global Markets

Specific responsibilities & objectives for this role
A senior regulatory project manager will be responsible for:
  • assessing regulatory impacts for Global Markets,
  • advising Front Officers on changes implied by the regulations,
  • representing Global Markets in relevant group level committees and
  • the end to end implementation of  1 or 2 major regulatory changes,  notably by
    • Estimating impact for Global markets
    • Setting-up relevant governance
    • Instituting road map
    • Challenging progress reports on each project stream
    • Following and report on the overall program budget and actual spend
    • Ensuring the changes are taken into account in defining Global Markets Strategy
    • Ensuring staff is trained and client are informed
Role Profile
The role requires the following traits and skills:
  • Extensive  Regulatory knowledge (EMIR, MIFID, DAF…) experience gained in financial sector
  • Proven project / programme management experience
  • Good knowledge products, PnL, and Risk Management techniques
  • Able to communicate clearly and advise Global Markets top-management
  • Interest in current regulatory developments
  • Be client focus - Sees stakeholders as well as external clients as “customers”
  • Solid network within Global Markets and functions
  • Strategic thinking and analytical reasoning
  • Team player willing and able to communicate efficiently with a global network of people (Global markets GBLs and functions, Group)
