Position Purpose

Within the RISK Function, the RISK Corporate Senior Credit Officer (SCO) decides jointly with the Business Delegation holder on credit requests within his/her concurring powers and geographical scope of responsibilities. He guarantees, for the portfolio which he/she follows, the independent assessment of the credit risk throughout the credit process and until maturity of the credit, in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines. 
To this effect, the SCO:
- Decides, jointly with Coverage and Business lines delegation holders, on the files falling under the Risk Corporate scope all credit decisions for which the SCO has a right of escalation,
- Guarantees the conformity of the credit decisions to the credit policies and the monitoring of the credit portfolio under his/he responsibility by assessing periodically its risk profile.
Key Responsibilities
Within that framework, the Senior Credit Officer has the following main missions:
On the portfolio under his/her responsibility:
- Jointly with Coverage and Business lines teams,
  • The quality of the commitments made; they should correspond to an "acceptable" risk level for the Bank, coherent with its rating, profitability targets, and the Bank's credit Policies including Compliance and CSR aspects;
  • A satisfactory level of risk anticipation by using external and internal early warning signals, by pro-actively identifying deteriorating risks and closely monitoring Watch List files and performing or proposing periodic and targeted portfolio review;
  • Through the provisioning process, that the valuation of the credit portfolio is fair

- the writing of synthetic and clear Credit Committee minutes

- the adequacy of Ratings and Global Recovery Rates (GRRs) assigned to Corporate clients and exposures, ensuring compliance with rating and GRR policies;

- jointly with the coverage, Business Lines and VPG, the identification of Non performing clients or/and Forborne exposures when applicable




- to the setting up of the general and specific credit policies;

- to the Bank reaching its target of 0% overdue Annual Reviews;

- to the dissemination within Business and Risk Corporate of concepts ad tools developed by the RISK Function as well as of information on the Bank's desired risk profile to RISK and CIB teams;

- to ensuring files presented to Watchlist and Doubtful committees, inserting RISK's comment on the evolution of files, participating in the committees and writing the minutes;

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of credit policies, procedures and banking regulations
  • Ability to assume responsibility and accountability for decision making,
  • Strong commitment and resistant to stress
  • Ability to work in an independent way and in teams for transversal projects
  • A good team player
  • Minimum 7 years working experience.

Specific Qualification Required

  • Bachelor of Economics Science/Finance and above
  • Proficient oral and writing skills in English
