Role Overview


The position is within the Regulatory Reporting team within the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) division. The Regulatory Reporting team is a high profile function within CIB Finance, providing financial information to the Prudential Regulation Authority ("PRA"), Financial Conduct Authority ("FCA") and Bank of England (BOE).


Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the BOE Statistical forms
  • Preparation of the quarterly PRA Mortgage form
  • Preparation of the half yearly PRA Branch return 
  • Review new business activity and impact on BOE reporting 
  • Review and investigate trends and provide commentary for management. 
  • Understand the reporting model infrastructure and implement streamlined process solutions towards a more efficient reporting model. 
  • Involvement in other non-BAU tasks, such as projects and policy matters that impact the legal entity and the financial reporting function. 
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analytics when required by management.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of BOE Statistical reporting preferred but not necessary. 
  • Investment banking product knowledge 
  • Understand International Financial Reporting Standards for key product areas (interest rate and credit derivatives, fixed income products) 
  • General accounting, reconciliation and finance knowledge essential, preferably from a Regulatory environment 
  • Experience of a data warehouse system similar to the general ledger used by BNP Paribas 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Access, Outlook, Word and Powerpoint

Desirable Attributes

  • Part Qualified/Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills 
  • Self- motivated and able to work with minimal supervision 
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility to work under pressure to meet changing work requirements and strict deadlines 
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Previous experience of FRS Global regulatory reporting system, Report Generator would be desirable.
