The Global Market Risk team provides senior management with an independent view of the Global Markets (GM) trading activities within the BNP Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) perimeter. The team benefits from a transversal view across markets, asset classes, products and geographies, and provides strong independent analysis of the risk and valuation of the full breadth of the GM portfolio. BNP Paribas being recognised within the industry for its strong risk culture, Market Risk is a strong and respected partner to GM.




  • Ensure high quality validation, as well as regular review, of valuation models and ensure model limitations and conditions of use are well identified and monitored

  • Define and regularly review model reserves in conjunction with GBL risk analysts and Valuation Risk Officers and contribute to defining non model related reserves (Fair Value and Prudent Value) together with the GBL risk analysts;

  • Coordinate with other members of the Quantitative Team to help ensure consistency of approaches across GBLs

  • Contribute to the validation of transactions involving complex valuation issues

  • Maintain strong interactions with the GBL risk analysts to keep aware of positions which are most sensitive to model and/or valuation issues

  • Actively contribute to, and act as Risk GM representative in, a number of model related forums (VMC, regular meetings with FO Quantitative Research, STQR,…)

  • Extremely frequent interaction with Global Markets Research and their management




  • Master in Finance, Engineering, Econometrics (or eq.)

  • 0-5 years’ experience

  • Knowledge of financial markets and derivatives

  • Strong quantitative skills

  • Ability to synthesise complexity

  • Knowledge of script programming languages (R, Python, VBA)

  • Prioritisation and organisation

  • Proactivity and autonomy

  • Driven to achieve excellence

  • Initiative to innovate and propose solutions
