Global Markets – Credit Repo Trading Assistant


The role is within the Front Office and will require close work alongside the Repo Trading teams across Europe. The TA will be responsible for booking trades and coordinating with Back Office team for smooth settlements to ensure a high level of post-trade service to all Clients.

Part of the post trade service, the TA will be responsible of managing the fails with a high priority for Central Bank trades.

The Credit Repo Desk in London and Brussels has a dual mandate:

  • Firm financing of all G10 Credit in EMEA and EMK desks in CEEMEA and LATAM. This includes short covering of all short positions.

  • Match Book activity on Corp Bonds, EMK Govies and Corps and Securitization (ABS/CLO) to service clients financing their longs or covering their shorts.

The credit repo desk processes a high number of trades, with generally small size and given lower liquidity than govies, the desk has to look after a high number of fails.


  • Providing general support to a busy desk of 5 Traders.
  • Acting as a point of contact for internal and Client operations staff.
  • Liaising with Sales and Trading to ensure any issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Resolving Clients’ operational queries,
  • Ensuring SSIs are up to date,
  • Chasing failing trades
  • Acting as a liaison between operational departments (internal and external).
  • Reporting Client positions to Trading.
  • Assisting with the on-boarding of new Clients and Accounts.

  • Trade booking, allocation and confirmation duties include:

  • Ensuring cash bond and repo trades are split/allocated according to client requirements and amending repo trades where required ie partial down, close and upsizes.

  • Sending VCON Tickets and booking executed repo trades on behalf of the traders.

  • Amending settlement methods according to back office instructions.

  • Resolving all queries related to the desk’s trades and escalating to the tradeder where necessary.

  • Providing manual confirmation via Bloomberg, email and telephone and chasing up the relevant Operations teams where required.

Education Background:
  • Strong schooling, undergraduate and postgraduate academic background

  • MSc in Business Management or Finance from a Top Tier international Business School or equivalent university

  • International profile

  • Preferred Industry/Domain Experience

  • Experience in investment banking is an advantage


  • Knowledge of financial markets (Equity and Commodity Derivative)

  • VBA skills are a plus

  • Microsoft Office skills

  • Precision & attention to details

  • Good communication skills, Commercial mind-set and Entrepreneurial attitude
