Business Analyst / Project Manager - Reference Data

Business Overview:

Reference Data Business Analysis / Project manager with strong functional and technical skills in the Data Governance and Master Data Management subjects; providing services and solutions aligned with overall bank data governance strategy and in accordance with regulatory requirements within IHC program scope


Functions include working closely with all IHC project Stakeholders articulating business/reporting/data management needs and defining, implementing the appropriate technology solutions.


Project/Practice Management:

  • Responsible for managing various projects within IT Data Solutions - Referential data team
  • Facilitate business requirements gathering; technical & functional specifications
  • Responsible for all aspects of the projects lifecycles including planning, monitoring and reporting in compliance with CMMi standards
  • Create and maintain project documentation
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to the senior management and project team
  • Provide guidance and share expertise with the project teams members and sponsors
  • Participate in designing innovative solutions align with bank’s informational architecture 
  • Define and implement data quality rules in accordance with Data Governance specifications
  • Facilitate defining and implementing solutions to manage referential data, including sourcing and remediation 
  • Set, communicate and continuously manage project expectations / success criteria with stakeholders


Business Development:

  • Identify, document business needs and facilitate resolution
  • Specify the workflow & systems enhancements to satisfy business & reporting needs
  • Complete business requirements & functional specifications
  • Participate in various testing cycles, provide support to the end-user
  • Effectively conveys the message in both written and verbal business development discussions


  • Bachelor’s Degree - Computer Science or Information Technology.

  • + 7  years’ experience in Project management / Business Analysis in a financial institution

  • Experience with MDM / RDM tools

  • Understanding of information governance principals

  • Solid knowledge of financial industry, banking and related products

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, Clarity, Business Objects & SQL is a plus
  • Knowledge of OFSAA(Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications) is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms

  • Display a sense of curiosity, enthusiasm and eagerness to understand business constraints, environment and impact on regulation for the financial industry.

  • Proactive thinking and ability to work under minimal supervision

  • Excellent organization, analytical and time management skills

  • Experience in business analysis, strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and creatively address various topics on-hand

  • Ability to work independently and become an effective team member
