Business Overview:
The Finance COO department ensures that appropriate solutions are put in place for the Finance (accounting) and Tax organization to meet their business objectives. The team acts as the bridge for the Finance and Tax organization to various departments within the BNP Paribas group, mainly the Business, PMO and Technology organizations in New York, New Jersey, California, Montreal, Mumbai, London and Paris. 
 
The team works simultaneously on a wide range of projects arising from business and regulatory changes and strategic initiatives. The team is also responsible for the reengineering efforts of existing applications to improve functionality and efficiency. The team also provides first line user support through training, research and responding to general queries.
 
Responsibilities:
This role has a dual reporting line to the Head of Finance Systems & Data and the Head of Regulatory Program within the Finance COO Office. This position is to act in a Program Management Office (PMO) capacity to support projects being addressed with in the Finance Systems & Data Program and the Regulatory Program. The role requires:   
  • Close liaising with Project Managers and Team Leads within Finance COO Organization, PMOs and Project Managers in other organizations and senior managers across the organization.
  • Produce clear and structured agendas and presentations for program meetings.
  • Chair program meetings and ensure that agendas are strictly followed.
  • Produce prompt meeting minutes and ensure that actions are followed up.
  • Manage issues and escalate effectively.
  • Ensure on-time quality delivery of programs and activities assigned.
  • Program resource management for Finance COO team to include:
  • Resource tracking of budget and actuals for team.
  • Face off to other PMs or PMOs on resource budget topics.
  • Coordination of on and off boarding of resources for COO team.
  • Produce metrics on resource management

Required Qualifications:
  • 4 or more years of Project/Program Management experience.
  • Experience in the field of accounting and / or accounting system and implementations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to interface with all levels of staff and management.
  • Proven ability to understand complex topics.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in geographically dispersed cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with professional consulting firm preferred.
  • Strong skills in MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and SharePoint.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the financial services industry (preferably investment banking).
  • Experience in a Program Management Office (PMO) position preferred.
  • Proven ability to understand complex topics.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in geographically dispersed cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with professional consulting firm preferred.
  • Experience in a Program Management Office (PMO) position preferred.
