Assistant Vice President – GRC Tool Data Operations Manager

Role Overview:
The GRC Tool Data Operations Manager will be responsible for the ongoing functional support and maintenance activities for the Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) Tool. The GRC Tool is a major, multi-year investment for all US operating entities (and will – in subsequent releases cover Canada and Latin America) and fundamental to the Americas Compliance Transformation Program. The GRC Tool will serve as the system of record for all the information and activities related to compliance risk management and will include but not be limited to modules which cover: Regulatory Inventory and Change Management, Policy and Procedures Management, OFAC/AML and Compliance Risk Assessments, Control Review and Testing, Compliance Issue Management, Regulatory Exam and Inquiry Management, Advanced Data Collection Vehicle and Advanced Reporting & Analytics. The initial roll-out of the GRC Tool is for the Americas but the GRC Tool is global initiative and will be implemented in other key BNPP locations.
The successful candidate will work well with the users of the GRC Tool and will provide them timely   functional support and will partner with Group IT to resolve systems  issues and implement new releases. He/she will work with a small team including a GRC Tool Functional Administrator. Key activities will include but not be limited to: data quality, user support, administrative activities, access management and coordination of activities with the IT Support team based in France
Data Quality:
  • Maintain documents up to date including but not limited to: functional specifications, data quality rules, taxonomy;
  • Perform regular data quality checks and assessments; and
  • Remediate data quality issues and improve controls.

    User Support:
  • Implement support request process and integrate with IT process to meet service levels;
  • Measure and report performance against service levels and escalate when necessary; and
  • Create/edit reports and dashboards for different user groups.

    Operational Requests:
  • Document operational guidelines for requests; and
  • Assist with performing operational activities where necessary.

    Access Management:
  • Establish access management process and oversee access provisioning; and
  • Implement access certification process and ensure compliance thereto

    Coordination with IT:
  • Support new releases with communication and testing; and
  • Work with IT to resolve complex user issues.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Degree in Business, Finance or other relevant field, Computer Science knowledge is an added advantage;
  • 5+ years’ experience with systems and understanding of information technology concepts and processes (such as User Acceptance Testing and the like);
  • Operations experience with customers (external/internal) and fulfilling service levels;
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and positive and ready to service attitude;
  • Attention to detail, strong problem solving and excellent time management skills;
  • Ability to work well with others across different functions, office locations, time zones and globally;
  • Knowledge of the banking operations in general and familiarity with Compliance-related topics including the current regulatory environment; and
  • Knowledge of data/content management (e.g., data quality, metadata, data governance, etc.).

  • Global experience and ability to speak French and other languages like Spanish and Portuguese.
  • Experience with any of the Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) tools in the external marketplace;
  • Understanding of the multiple business units of BNP Paribas;
  • Expertise in process management improvement techniques, like Six Sigma and Lean;
  • Team management experience, having direct responsibility of managing people;
