Scope of Role

The IT Asset Manager (Hardware) is responsible for managing and monitoring all IT assets & to ensure that IT asset data is captured, accurately recorded and updated in a timely manner within the approved hardware catalogue. The IT Asset Manager is responsible for tracking all existing and newly acquired IT Service Area components (e.g. hardware, maintenance contracts, and related assets) and their attributes on classified and unclassified networks. The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of technology-related hardware within the organization. The IT Asset Manager will develop and implement processes and procedures for tracking Enterprise assets and for sustaining compliance throughout the asset lifecycle.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

-  Maintain the accuracy of the IT asset inventory and configuration items throughout the asset lifecycle.

-  Develop, document, implement, and improve Asset Management procedures to meet operational requirements, to adhere to defined policies, and to ensure the accuracy.

-  Manage a team of 14-15 members in Mumbai and Chennai

-  Maintain hardware standards, validated product lists, and support contracts.

-  Input, maintain, update, track and report on all IT assets throughout the asset life cycle.

-  Identify, document, and report compliance issues with asset consumption and recommend resolutions.

-  Audit, validate, and reconcile hardware assets against the installed asset base.

-  Provide reports of asset management audit results and implement approved asset management remediation plans to address deficiencies.

-  Update asset records related to all approved Change activities (e.g. Install/Move/Add/Change activities Break/Fix activities, and Change Management).

-  Provide updates and training to other personnel on processes, tools, and reports.

-  Identify opportunities to fully utilize unused or partially used IT hardware assets.

-  Manage and execute asset management projects and communicate status regularly to key stakeholders.

-  Managing stocks as per business requirement as well as initiating disposals of EOL assets.

-  Perform monthly IT assets reconciliation exercise internally. Perform annually IT assets reconciliation with fixed asset register (FAR) with the help of third party auditors. Prepare and publish reports. Chair the steering committee and take the exercise to closure with appropriate approvals on time.

-  Understand Hardware installations requirements with the key stakeholders and initiate and drive end to end hardware set up for new projects

-  Provide regular team briefings and performance feedbacks to the team members

-  Share BAU status updates with leaderships

-  Escalate any Risks, Issues, Dependencies

Technical knowledge & Skills:

-  ITIL® V3 Foundations Certification would be preferred.

-  Experience in asset and configuration item identification.

-  Strong written and verbal communications skills.

-  Use of Microsoft Applications with excellent skills in Excel and Word applications.


Education Background:

-  Bachelor’s degree or higher

-  At least 7 years of experience as an IT Asset Manager required.

-  Must be organized, self-motivated, responsible, committed and energetic.

-  Good communication and interpersonal skills which include both verbal and written skills.

-  The individual will be required to travel and work at various BNP Paribas locations in order to fulfil their duties as part of the ITIP Team.

-  The individual will be required to have knowledge & understanding of various service / regulatory standards, work processes & procedures.

Education Background:

-  Bachelor’s degree or higher

-  At least 7 years of experience as an IT Asset Manager required.
