As part of the Enhanced Prudential Standards (EPS), the Federal Reserve requires banking organizations to establish an Intermediate Holding Company (IHC), to regulate them similarly to comparably-sized domestic Bank Holding Company (BHC).
Consequently, BNP Paribas has to provide the necessary legal, management and regulatory reporting on a USGAAP basis for the Intermediate Holding Company (IHC).
The IT Transversal Team is part of the Information Technology Group which works simultaneously on a wide range of projects arising from business, strategic initiatives, regulatory changes and reengineering of existing applications to improve functionality and efficiency.
The Intermediate Holding Company (“IHC”) program structured at the U.S. level across poles of activities of BNP Paribas provides guidance, supports the analysis, impact assessment and drives adjustments of the U.S. platform’s operating model due to the drastic changes introduced by the Enhanced Prudential Standards (“EPS”) for Foreign Banking Organizations (“FBOs”) finalized by the Federal Reserve in February 2014, implementing Section 165 of U.S. Dodd-Frank Act.
The IHC Application Production Support (APS) Specialist – Data Services will report into the IHC APS manager. The APS specialist will perform application production support activities onshore for Data Services applications (built using Informatica, PL/SQL and Oracle), and coordinate with offshore counterparts for successful identification and resolution of Production issues. Additionally the IHC AP L2 Analyst will interact with work stream leads, infrastructure & business stakeholders for issue resolution.
Perform issue investigation and resolution, planning, and release management for Data Services (comprising of ETL, Oracle OFSAA, Informatica Data Quality, other PL/SQL databases and or Oracle DB)
Liaise with IT work streams, Infrastructure, business stakeholders and offshore APS teams to resolve production issues for Data Services
Incident management – business and technology communication, coordination and resolution of incidents, from external issues such as exchange problems to internal application bugs impacting the production environment
Problem management – Post incident review ensuring that the issue has been permanently resolved and what value add items can be completed to ensure the issue does not reoccur
Release management – being the gatekeepers for the production environment, ensuring all change is understood and scheduled appropriately
Perform emergency deployments or provide hands-on application specific technical support for issues that are escalated from offshore
Collate and prepare inputs for Data Services Production related meetings (e.g. weekly/bi-weekly production update meetings, change control meetings, production KPI/ metrics)
Investigate application behavior with queries directly from the business
Monitoring and continual service improvement of supported applications
Perform activities related to compliance/audit reporting
Work with development teams and escalate technical issues requiring L3 support
7-9 years’ experience in engineering, engineering support, or technical support environment
Strong technical background with Production Support experience in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, ORACLE 12 and below, UNIX, Shell scripting
Windows and UNIX (and GUI) application support, use of SQL for data gathering and reporting
Experience of supporting Oracle based data management technologies
Experience and knowledge of ITSM processes, methodologies and tools
Prior customer-facing (internal or external) experience a must
Excellent knowledge on Informatica platform as a whole and the integration among different Informatica components and services
Good knowledge of data warehousing concepts and development methodologies
Operating Systems: UNIX, Windows, SOLARIS, Linux
Languages: Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, Shell Scripting, Perl
Database: Oracle 12 and below
Web Technologies: JAVA HTML XML XSLT
Tools and Utilities: TOAD, PUTTY, AUTOSYS, SQL LOADER
Knowledge of Informatica ETL (Power Center), Data Quality and Data Warehouse model
Knowledge of Moody’s Risk Foundation Framework and Moody’s Discovery (Qlikview) is a plus
Problem solving and root cause identification skills
Experience supporting large and complex production systems using complex SQL queries and reporting systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
