Job Description Summary

Responsible for investment and client relationship management of various types of individual Wealth Management accounts, including agency, foundation, charitable, revocable, and irrevocable trust accounts.  May also be responsible for the management or assistance in the management of a corresponding investment style, asset class, or Bank of the West strategy.

Essential Job Functions
    • Manages investment accounts of key importance or of a complex nature including meeting with clients on a periodic basis to review the client’s investment situation which includes discussing investment objectives, goals, account performance and possible future strategies.
    • Provides investment advice and guidance to wealth management team members with respect to individual client situations, corresponding governing document requirements, and investment related policies and procedures.
    • Oversees the activities related to management of clients' investment portfolios, including the preparation and maintenance of client investment accounts in-line with appropriate internal and external regulations, policies, and applicable laws..
    • Participates in the development of new business by prospecting existing or prospective customers and participating in the sales process with other wealth management team members.
    • Maintains a continuous study of financial news, reports, digests, and financial services to keep informed of economic and financial conditions affecting markets and their impact on investment management strategies,
    • Recommends to appropriate Research Teams and investment management personnel, the appropriate course of action regarding investment strategy or client specific items.
    • Ensures all day-to-day activities within the Global Investment and Fiduciary Solutions group are in accordance with Bank of the West policies, procedures, ethics as well as external regulations and laws.
Other Job Duties

  • Assists in the establishment of investment policies for clients.
  • Prepares periodic reports for management and others, as needed.
  • Participates in and contributes to the development of investment strategies or research thereof.
  • Monitors application of investment recommendations from upper management and thoroughness in applying changes after which they are approved.
  • Maintains an active and ongoing conversion to approved strategies and plans for each existing account being managed using a Bank of the West strategies.
  • May supervise employees directly (i.e., selection, training, performance appraisal and work allocation).
  • Assists in developing departmental budgets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience
  • Requires mastery level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • May have deep knowledge of project management.
  • Requires 10 years minimum prior relevant experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Thorough knowledge of economics, investment strategy, quantitative analysis, and risk assessment.
