Position Summary

  1. Prepares and reviews difficult crop budgets and cash flow projections and prepares reports evaluating borrower’s historical performance.  Uses historical analysis of financial statements, tax returns, budgets, yields, market prices, and industry information, along with current and forecasted information, to determine equity and margins in an operation. Reports to include discussion of soils, water availability, equipment availability, marketing and management.
  2. Performs periodic inspections of farm/ranch operations to evaluate performance and adherence to budgeted projections, to include evaluation of yields and prices currently anticipated versus those originally budgeted.  Determines status of remaining receivables and outstanding payables.
  3. Prepares or reviews livestock or dairy budgets. Performs periodic appraisals of livestock and of stored feed supplies to determine loan equity positions.  Reports to include evaluation of livestock’s health and condition, facilities, marketing, management and livestock valuation and equity position.
  4. Keeps fully informed on agricultural issues including market conditions, governmental regulations, weather patterns, water supplies, and technological advancements in agriculture.
  5. Ensures compliance with the appropriate professional and regulatory standards.
  6. Maintains a liaison with the account officer for whom reports are prepared
  7. Reinforces adherence to bank underwriting policies and procedures and growth, quality and profit objectives through the loan approval process.
  8. Assists in monitoring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  9. Analyzes pertinent financial and credit data and assists in making credit decisions.
  10. Assists in identifying and managing troubled assets and potential troubled assets in an assigned area.

Job Specifications:

 

 

Required Education or Equivalent Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree

·         Vocational/Specialized Training

 

 

Required Experience

·         Two to three years

 

 

 

Field of Experience

·         May substitute a BS in an agricultural field of study for four to six years of required experience.  Full knowledge of the most common segments of agriculture, including farming and ranching practices and techniques, governmental regulations, economic conditions, etc.

 

 

Administrative/Technical Skills

·         Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.

·         Analytical and research

·         Compile statistics

·         Perform math and analysis

·         Proofread documents

·         Research information

·         Schedule appointments

·         Written and verbal communication

 

 

Level Supervised

·         No supervisory responsibility

 

 

Physical Requirements

·         Sedentary Work; lifting maximum 10 lbs., frequent standing/walking
