Job Description Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of routine clerical accounting functions such as reconciliations, account balancing, clearing rejects and processing miscellaneous journal entries, some complex in nature. Must provide and maintain the appropriate supporting documentation

Essential Job Functions
  • Performs routine clerical assignments such as analyzing accounts, records, reports, etc. for accuracy. May investigate more complex questionable entries and recommend remedial measures.
    May post and balance accounts. Prepares account statements and other reports as required.
    Balances figures, computes totals, and performs elementary mathematical calculations.
    May maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
    Balances various computer reports. Researches and resolves escalated out-of-balance conditions.
    Checks details needed to prepare various reports, specific accounts and journal entries.
    Calculates debits, credits and other accounting tallies using a calculator or computer accounting software.
    May prepare various accounting forms or financial related items for internal or external customers.
    Must keep organized, accurate and appropriate supporting documentation for all functions.
    Answers escalated inquiries regarding information stated on reports or regarding policies and procedures.

  • Requires basic job knowledge of systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education.
  • Requires 3 years minimum experience.
  • May require vocational or technical education in addition to prior work experience.
  • Must be available 6:00 - 2:30 PM Monday through Friday 

  • H.S. Diploma required 

  • Good knowledge of basic bookkeeping and/or bank operations.
  • Administrative/Technical Skills.
  • Answers telephone and screens calls.
  • Balance figures.
  • Compile statistics and reports.
  • Experience on CRT terminal.
  • Filing and typing documents.
  • Maintain logs.
  • Perform math and analysis.
  • Proofread documents.
  • Research information.
