Position Purpose

Provide a brief description of the overall purpose of the position, why this position exists and how it will contribute in achieving the team’s goal.

Global Market Operations (GMO) covers Front Office activities such as ALM/Treasury and Fixed Income local booking. GMO consists of 3 streams, Control and Investigations, Settlement and Confirmations. GMO teams are also in regular contact with Capital Market Middle Office, Regional Back Office’s and Regional Finance.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

·         Maintain an acceptable level of Operational Risk

·         By having the appropriate resources in order to cope with the production workload.

·         By setting up relevant KPIs and regular reporting 

·         By reporting to Management any blocking point or issues that need to be escalated for resolution.

·         Mitigate the risk of Fraud by having in place the appropriate controls 

·         Coordination and Supervision of the Settlement Production

·         Management: The Commodities – Flow & Options – Structured Products Settlement teams

·         Control Costs making sure they are in line with the Budget

·         Keep Operational Risk under control

·         Monitors Human Resources needs

 

Contributing Responsibilities

·    Motivate team members, promote and ensure good team spirit among team members

·         Communicate on the entity strategy and any other topics that could impact the Settlement department.

·         Ensure that appropriate training is given to the team members in order to reach a high level of expertise.

·         Set-up training plan and perform individual appraisal for team leaders

·         Participate with the Management to the end of Year Promotion and Remuneration process.

Leadership and Management reporting

·         Assess requirements and priorities.

·         Monitor the production

·         Control performances and quality levels through Key indicators

·         Permanent review of the processes. Study deficiencies, failures and propose corrective actions. Adjust the organization, procedures and set up appropriate training sessions when necessary.

·         Contribute to the sponsoring of Settlement projects. Set up the Settlement IT requirements. Participate actively to the action plan and its implementation in production.

·         Ensure that Global Market payment policy is applied

       COST MONITORING

·         Ensure that cost are in line with the Budget

·         Keep reducing operational costs when possible but without any impact on quality services delivered to clients and financial security.

·         Be part of the Budget process in line with the Management recommendations

Specific Qualifications (if required)

  • 15-18 years working experience in relevant areas (Operations)
  • Bachelor or Master Degree on Banking & Finance / Economics / Mathematics
