Transaction Banking APAC - Commodity Trade Solutions Specialist

Position Purpose

To develop the commodity trade finance business with all CIB corporate clients

Key Responsibilities


Origination / Marketing

(a) Attend client meetings, support origination and understand clients’ needs and requirements

(b) Prepare indicative Term Sheets

(c) Refer prospects to Coverage

(d) Actively look for cross-selling opportunities: lead marketing and origination effort with Coverage (Commodity

     Corporate Coverage, IBA, MNC, Local Coverage), APAC countries Coverage and TBA

(e) Develop franchise in APAC countries with no CTS presence


Provide ad hoc support to Coverage during account opening, KYC, account monitoring and re-certification

Facility structuring / Pricing

CTS has the lead in below responsibilities for CTS transactions, to be jointly agreed with Coverage:

- Price the transactions

- Prepare term sheets

- Structure credit lines and transactions

Credit application

(a) Support Coverage in the credit process, to prepare credit proposal for annual reviews on a timely basis, ad hoc

      requests. CTS is responsible for completing a CTS Memo relating to CTS products which will include:

- Client facilities, including the structures and  their descriptions, and risks associated with the structure

- Pricing

(b) Attend the relevant Credit Committee if required

(c) Update the Facility Page when amendments / waivers should be made to a facility

(d) Negotiate CTS product legal documentation with the client in close coordination with Coverage, including Letter of

     Offer and Security Documents

(e) Coordinate with various departments (3C, Legal, Documentation Team) to ensure that legal documents

     are timely and properly executed to protect the bank’s security positions

(f)  Ensure that the CTS facilities are implemented in the system

(g) Prepare the implementation Memo of the facilities with Middle Office

Transaction monitoring and authorization

(a) For Trade transactions, give approval in the case of yellow ticket (normal credit utilization)

(b) Regularly inform Coverage on the activity of the client (list of client tickets to be provided daily to Coverage)

(c) Inform MO/BO the pricing to be applied

(d) Validate Mandatory Analysis Grid (MAG) for Trade and Cash transactions

(e) Remain vigilant of suspicious transactions of the clients

(f) Alert Head of Relevant Coverage and key stakeholders involved in the transaction on any warning signs of

    deterioration of credit or transactional issue


Account maintenance, monitoring and recertification

(a) Monitor clients’ business to assess their needs/performance and keep up with business developments or changes

     in the market

(b) Promote the utilization of credit facilities

(c) Identify opportunities to restructure unused credit facilities, in line with client’s business needs

(d) In case of collateral shortfall/breach of collateral ratio, to resolve the issue and find a solution together with client

     and Coverage

(e) Provide feedbacks on client’s behavior to Coverage

(f) Provide technical advisory to coverage and clients

Risk management

Responsible for the management of the CTS credit facility, transactional and operational risk, conduct and

reputation risk for all new and existing transactions implemented within the client portfolio

Country policy

Responsible for meeting the guidelines defined by BNPP Country Policy, which applies to countries where BNPP

has no physical presence


(a) Managed revenues for Coverage clients with CTS products, as well as from APAC countries with no CTS


(b) Operational intensity of transactions

(c) Net contribution to P/L after all costs and product specific cost of risk

(d) Business development in countries other than CN/HK/SG

(e) Market intelligence report, competitor benchmarking as agreed with reporting manager
