Subject Matter Expert Fund Accounting (H/F)

Working in the Fund Administration is a unique opportunity to learn on different domains and develop a career:

  • Capital Market: Understanding financial Products such as Equity, Bond, Listed Derivative, OTC Derivatives in a large range/type of Funds (UCITS, Hedge funds, Alternatives and Raif funds,,).
  • Funds Accounting: Developing various accounting aspects, being expert in management techniques (Pooling, Master-feeder…), using referenced FA systems (Multifond Calculo,), and applying innovative processes (performance fee, Hedging, Swing price..).
  • Working in team:  Managing multiple interactions with clients and their providers  (International Operating Centers,  brokers, Custodians,…)  and auditors.
  • Support transformation required for continuous improvement

Your mission:

The SME FA team is part of the Fund Administration based in Luxembourg. The purpose of this team is to review and analyses the different processes in place and to identify the area of improvements. Team will also bring support and expertise in the daily production and bring help for the implementation of trainings.

The SME Fund Accounting mission consists in providing support and expertise to the different production and client facing teams of the Fund Accounting for the range of activity performed.

The job consists in instructing the following operations based on relevant agreements:

  • Process and Platform improvements

Identify the manual steps, process efficiencies & developments, by providing practical ideas on areas of improvements & work towards its automation.

Contribute to testing plans design and support execution

Analyse and investigate the encountered blocking points. Raised the relevant CR/BRD/PID in coordination with BCM team and IT Engineering.

Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects (Global Operations, IT Engineering, BCM, BI,…);

Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.

  • Fund Events

Work closely with BI team and FA Stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient preparation of the events.

Bring support to the operations teams from Fund Accounting perspective.

Follow-up of the events and if necessary, perform an analysis after the fact to determine what could be improved in the procedure.

  • Production Support

Bring support to the Client Account Management team if necessary, during client calls or service review.

Act as operational expert to support BAU production

In case of crisis, reinforce the different operations teams if necessary.

  • Trainings and procedures

Identify the training needs within the Fund Accounting scope (new process, complex products…)

Work closely with the Trainings departments to determine an efficient training plan.

Help to create supports for skill sharing sessions (training);

  • Target operating model

Work closely with Onshore NAV production and PBM teams to make sure that the process are correctly aligned between the different teams;

Identify and raise the eventual divergence.

Share on a regular basis the impacts / deviations with the Target Operating Model FA to the Global FA Team

  • Incidents

Perform a second level review on the technical part of the incidents.

Help to identify the preventive measures.

  • Management support

Attend the different meeting delegated by the Head of SME Fund Accounting.

In his absence, bring support to the different Group Manager from the Fund Accounting.

Your profile:

Education:

Bachelor degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance

Academic Background: Business school, university (BAC+5)

  

Professional experience:

A strong willingness to learn and excel, bundle with energy is necessary

Previous experience in the fund industry is an asset.

Good Communication oral & written

Technical skills:
