Sr. RPA /Intelligent Automation Designer (Developer)

Robotic Processing Automation (RPA) Development Team: 
Join Bank of the West in one of its newly established teams, RPA Development. As a part of this team, you will be tasked with utilizing next generation RPA technology to meet the needs of internal stakeholders. This team is responsible for the technological advancements and improvements to our organizational automation. 

Job Description Summary

Essential Job Functions
  • Work with Business Process Owner and RPA Program Manager to assess the technical feasibility of automating a business process
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements where applicable
  • Develop PDD (Process Definition Document) based on information gathered by RPA Program Manager and through process walkthroughs and discussions
  • Design the solution and Develop SDD (Solution Design Document) and design documents to describe the solution to be configured for the automation
  • Include Intelligent Automation, beyond standard RPA, in solutions where required (OCR, Human-in-the-loop, other BP Digital Exchange or custom functionality)
  • Configure automation objects, processes, and other required functionality to the standard set by the RPA COE
  • Develop reusable objects and sub processes that can be leveraged by other automations and work to catalog them
  • Present work to design and technical reviews
  • For some projects that are primarily developed by contracting groups, work to support the effort as part of the team to ensure that standards and procedures are followed, assist with technical questions and issues, as well as understand the automation to support it after contract completion
  • Perform Unit, QA, and documented UAT testing before conducting Live-Proving in Production
  • Create a release package, release notes, and operational handbook along with a completed Test Plan for turnover to the RPA Platform team
  • Support fixes and approved changes during the Production Monitoring phase after an automation starts running in Production
  • Troubleshoot and complete assigned fixes and approved changes received as tickets for currently running automations
  • Contribute to improving the operation of the team by working on assigned side projects from documentation to developing tools
Additional Responsibilities: 
  • Provide guidance to more junior developers
  • Consult on more complex use cases
  • Act as an automation Subject Matter Expert for the RPA COE
  • Work to enhance the operating model of the team
  • Keep up with the changes in the Intelligent Automation industry and look for opportunities to enhance the team's ability to provide top level business process automation
  • Continually improve RPA COE design and code standards

Required Experience
  • 6+ years Application development, testing, and support
  • Accredited Blue Prism RPA Developer - preferred
  • 2+ years RPA development experience 
  • 2+ years of experience performing Business Analysis and creating Documentation to describe medium to complex business process solutions
  • 2+ years of experience developing Windows applications, Web applications, and/or Web Services using .NET (C#)
  • Windows UI development
  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript Web Front end development
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience consuming Web APIs (SOAP, REST)
  • Hands on experience developing Database functionality for applications/solutions which includes basic data modelling, creating efficient SQL queries, and developing stored procedures.
  • Knowledge of data security

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area; or 4+ years of relevant work experience
