Job Description Summary

Responsible for planning, directing and managing activities across multiple RBG regions for the Business Banking Relationship Manager functions to accomplish profit, growth, referral, quality and service objectives. Responsible for planning and performance in all of the following functions: business development, customer retention, credit and service quality, and human resource management. Develops strategies for expansion and retention of customer base and development of new customer relationships.

Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee and manage through region managers, Business Banking Relationship Manager teams serving business customers with revenues up to $25MM ($50MM in markets designated as "community banking" markets)
  • Develops and executes consistent processes to ensure retention of customers, expansion of customer relationships and growth in new customers.
  • Establishes customer contact and calling goals, sales and customer retention objectives to meet the group's financial goals.
  • Coaches direct reports to maximize success in achieving goals including in-market visits and joint calls with Relationship Managers.
  • Ensures a high standard of credit quality through the process of credit submission and portfolio maintenance, and oversight of portfolio management practices including mitigation of delinquencies and loan losses.
  • Liaison with Business Credit Solutions and Business Credit Operations to ensure efficient and effective Business underwriting and portfolio management processes are practiced.
  • Analyzes Portfolio performance and trends.
  • Make recommendations and/or implement changes (when applicable) to meet the Bank's credit quality objectives.
Other Job Duties
  • Develops budgets for regions and ensures budgets are allocated within budget limits to accomplish financial performance objectives.
  • Obtains and evaluates general and specific business conditions and keeps senior management advised on critical issues.
  • Develops short and long range plans for product, credit and market coverage accordingly and monitors progress
  • Assumes responsibility for carrying out and ensuring operations are in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, and bank policies and procedures, securing professional counsel when necessary.
  • Exercises human resource responsibility for personnel managed directly and indirectly (through direct reports) including recruiting strategies and hiring, performance management and reviews, termination, salary recommendations, and personnel issues.
  • Establishes performance goals, recommends compensation structures including variable pay plans
  • Analyzes portfolio performance and trends. Make recommendations and/or implement changes (when applicable) to meet the Bank's credit quality objectives.

Required Experience
  • Requires advanced business knowledge, general management and leadership capability to lead business or functional teams.
  • Typically has broader practical experience across multiple professional disciplines within the organization, combining theory, past practical experience and the organization’s business practices.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Business Admin or related degree

Skills
  • At least ten years of commercial or business banking relationship management and lending experience, with direct line accountability exposure to all products, credit and non-credit.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven success at leading teams of business or commercial bankers.
  • Strong, proven sales management skills.
  • Proven skills in developing and managing budgets with low variance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of lending policies, procedures and related regulations.
  • Effective negotiation skills, planning and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software.
