SQL Application Support Specialist

Cardif Pinnacle are seeking an experienced SQL Application Support Specialist  to join the Application Support Team within the IT function.

The role is based at our Borehamwood Office and its primary focus is the development and support of the BNPCC operational systems and supporting processes within an ITIL aligned service delivery framework.  

The role involves engaging with business users, project managers, business analysts, technical teams, testers and vendors to understand the requirements and to develop and deliver effective and efficient solutions for PMS, CMS, Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse and Reporting applications and assist with strategic developments, Projects and transformation initiatives.

This is a fast-paced customer focused position and to be successful in this role you have expert competencies in VBA 6, Access 2003, SQL, SSIS, SSAS, and SSIS within a MS SQL Server 2008 environment supported by a proven track record of commercial experience.

 

You must also be willing to develop your technical competences to include developing dialler software and other technologies when required.

 

You will be a supportive team member and work flexibly within a small team. You will also be willing to work out of hours for planned maintenance and travel between our UK sites as necessary.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 
  • To develop, test, deploy and document code changes to Warranty Direct applications and supporting processes using Access, SQL, VBA, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS in accordance with company’s software development lifecycle.

  • Support and management of the dialler.

  • Support and maintenance of the WD PMS and Data Warehouse.

  • Lead a constant data cleaning process.

  • Assist with projects requiring SQL expertise.

  • To perform monitoring and carry out daily,weeky and monthly operational activities

  • To develop and document new operational process and procedures in line with company standards.

  • Resolving and managing incidents, tasks and problems, working with other teams, ensuring that the correct solution is reached.

  • To maintain appropriate procedures for application monitoring, capacity planning and tuning.

  • To provide technical guidance to assist the business, business analysts and/or clients with defining business requirements

  • To create design documents consistent with the agreed user requirements.

  • To produce Unit/System Test plans and perform Unit/System Testing.
  • To ensure coding meets company standards in terms of the accuracy, efficiency and robustness of the developed code.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of strategic transformation initiatives, projects and assist with data migrations

  • To work in accordance with the Company ITSM policies and processes

  • To ensure Information Continuity capability is adhered to; supporting any tests as required.

  • Investigate and Triage Incident Reports submitted by Business Risk.

  • To carry out any other task associated with the role as reasonably requested

  • To ensure compliance with appropriate Group and Industry audit requirements.

  • To develop personal skills and technical capability through on-going training as provided by, or approved by HR.

  • Act, behave appropriately and comply with the internal rules and regulations and with the general ethical standards expected by the Bank and relevant Regulatory Authorities, particularly in, but not limited to, proactively protecting and safeguarding the interests of its clients, the integrity of the markets and the Group's reputation.

  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and Group's internal Compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Financial Security, Know Your Customer due diligence, International Financial Sanctions, Client Interest Protection, Market Integrity, Data Protection.

  • Complete all necessary Compliance training, in accordance with the annual training plan, to maintain appropriate business and compliance level of knowledge and understanding in order to be fully competent to undertake the role.


Skills required for this role:

 
  • Minimum 5 years SQL experience within MS SQL Server
  • Minimum 5 years Access/VBA development Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in MS BI tools(SSIS/SSRS/SSAS)

  • Experience of requirement gathering and data migration techniques
