Responsible for providing capital and financial analysis in support of the Bank’s capital management analysis function, specifically focused on analyzing Dodd-Frank Act Stress Testing (“DFAST”) and Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (“CCAR”) activities for the Bank, its lines of business, the Bank’s holding company, and its Intermediate Holding Company (IHC) BNP Paribas USA.
Responsible for providing critical support to the capital planning process and the associated capital stress testing production with a focus on facilitating the CCAR/DFAST PPNR forecasting process as well as supporting the aggregation process for the broader review of balance sheet, income statement, risk weighted assets, and regulatory capital.
Responsible for providing strategic insight to senior management by analyzing data to generate insightful predictive analysis that help guide senior management’s expectations regarding current and expected future financial performance and that impact on the Bank’s capital position.
Partner with various groups within the Bank such as Treasury, Tax, Financial Planning & Analysis and Enterprise Risk to support that analysis.
May lead employees on projects.
Essential Job Functions
Understand the Capital Management policies, principles and objectives of the Bank.
Calculate, analyze capital, financial and risk ratios to be presented to senior management, steering committees and the Board. The analysis is to provide strategic insight regarding current and expected future financial performance and that impact on the Bank’s capital position.
Assist and perform CCAR/DFAST production runs to forecast loan/deposit balances and non-interest income/expense, including execute remediation of regulatory findings.
Utilize statistical models for dynamic balance sheet and income statement forecast; perform statistical analysis to develop driver-based forecast and quantify relationship between macro-factors and PPNR components.
Assist in aggregating the stress testing results from Treasury, Risk and other stakeholders; generate a holistic view of balance sheet, income statement for management review.
Take responsibility of CCAR production Hyperion Essbase, including Data flow processes, Business Rules calculations and data accuracy. Understand the concepts of multi-dimensional databases, hypercube and data warehouses.
Design data and analytics solutions to deliver meaningful product insights by developing reports/dashboards on a regular basis using Tableau by blending data from different sources like Essbase, Oracle and SQL Server.
Prepare presentations/reports for senior management, Capital Planning Committee, Board of Directors and other executive steering committee meetings.
Monitor Regulatory developments that may impact the Bank or IHC from a Capital Stress Testing perspective. Be able to synthesize and summarize regulatory requirements for senior management consumption.
Other Job Duties
Write and maintain operating procedures,
manuals, model documentation, and other evidentiary documents to communicate to
internal/external groups and possible other interested parties the soundness of
methodologies and the replicability of the process.
Document current process and enhancements; perform control and governance checks.
Work with Financial Technology partners and within the Capital Planning team to develop system solution to handle balance roll forward and data transfer for key stakeholders in the stress testing process.
Participate in projects as required for new initiatives, process improvements or technology implementation and development.
Monitors project progress towards project goals, coaches and motivates team members to make needed adjustments in plans to meet milestones and to achieve goals. Facilitates and documents lessons learned on projects to use on future projects.
Schedules and conduct status meetings with involved staff and management, to ensure timely completion of project tasks and addressing and resolving problems that could prevent timely completion of the project.
Prepares, provides and communicates progress reports on project status for staff and management review.
Recognizes project issues and concerns requiring resolution in a timely and professional manner and addresses them with management and appropriate staff members.
Performs ad-hoc analysis as needed to support business and functional priorities and performs other duties as assigned.
Requires deep knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
Typically viewed as a specialist within discipline.
May have broad knowledge of project management.
Requires 7 years minimum prior relevant experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or related
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) a plus
Time management, project management, and organizational leadership skills.
Able to interact with various business and support partners.
Knowledge and working experience of OLAP, Data Marts, MS Access, Business Objects, APEX, Hyperion, Essbase, Smart view and Multi-dimensional cubes.
Working experience of Tableau and other BI Analytics tools like OBIEE.
Working experience of SAS CPnM a plus.
