Global Market Operations also known as COCE (Client Operating Center of Excellence) is further divided into 4 departments i.e. Trade Processing & Support, PnL, Client Management & Change Management. Product Control in the wider market outside of BNP is Middle Office. Product Control consists of streams like Documentation & Reconciliation, Trade Support, P&L & Trading Portfolio & controls. Position Purpose

Mission Statement of ALM Treasury:

  • Manage the Group’s liquidity position, both in business as usual conditions and in crisis situations
  • Manage the interest rate risks in the banking book
  • Manage operational and structural foreign exchange risk

ENVIRONMENT AND MISSIONS OF THE ALM TRADE SUPPORT MIDDLE OFFICER

  • The ALM trade support team is in charge of providing support to ALM - Medium & Long Term Funding, Personal Finance France and Resource & Portfolio Management

The ALM trade support team is in charge of providing support to:

ALM - Medium & Long Term Funding

  • Mission: Raising BNP Paribas medium & long term wholesale funding to achieve liquidity and regulatory objectives

Personal Finance France

  • Mission: Management of liquidity risk and interest rate risk

Resource & Portfolio Management

  • Mission: provides de-risking and capital management advisory solutions

The ALM trade support team has 3 core functions:

  • Management and operational monitoring of transactions initiated by FO
  • Controls and reporting
  • Process re-engineering / Project office

Responsibilities

1 – Trade Capture Monitoring and Trade Lifecycle Management:

# The ALM Middle-Officer manages the trade processing and the Amend/Cancel

  • Ensure proper representation and integration in a timely manner of transactions in the booking systems (Sekoian-Kondor+, FXO, Calypso and Murex)
  • Validate the trades in the booking systems (Murex, Calypso)
  • Book events related to the trade life cycle in Sekoian and Kondor upon prior request from FO: fixing, amend & cancel, buy back, calls, credit events…
  • And ensure events/trades have been properly interfaced to FXO, Murex, Calypso Back Office and accounting systems
  • Ensure that documentation is regularly reviewed, updated and is in line with the rules defined in the Group Guidelines.

2 –Controls & Reporting:

# Perform standardized and specific controls as per control plan and upon agreed schedule

# Provide standardized and specific reports as per requirement and upon agreed schedule

  • Perform trade support controls (booking controls, regulatory controls…)
  • Carry out discrepancy analysis or investigate any breaks raised by other teams: Position Control Analysis (PCA), Intra-group reconciliations, Accounting Control Investigations, PnL, Finance…
  • Contribute to dashboards, produce Key Performance Indicators for FO and management
  • Produce regular reporting for FO (activity reports)
  • Answer specific ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Certifies that controls have been duly performed via ORUS certification
  • Escalate to the management and /or permanent control areas where operational risks have been identified, any fraud or breaches detected in the procedures or breaches to existing controls, and propose corrective actions and relevant remediation plans

3 –Share Expertise

# Deliver operational expertise to support various initiatives

  • Contribute to transversal projects coordinated by Projects teams: DRIVE, P&C, IT, ALMT Business Management…
  • Participate in the validation of Business Specifications, procedures, TAC /NAC and UAT
  • Attend projects committees, help to define needs, analyse proposals, identify blocking points and assist the team during every stage of the project from implementation to after care.
  • Provide guidance on booking and share expertise on booking solutions
  • Offer consulting on new booking schemes taking into consideration all impacts
  • Process reengineering: improve & reduce manual processes
