JOB PURPOSE

Development of new key business unit reporting & data extraction processes, plus redesigning & redeveloping existing codes, in line with the best practice data and coding standards as defined by the Data Management, Governance & Control team. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support in the development of new efficiency data extraction and reporting processes; ensuring that for each piece of work:
  • All work this is done is aligned to the project Brief (Terms of Reference) which sets out the Objectives, Requirements, Deliverables, Timeframes, Milestones, Key points of interactions and Success Metrics 
  • Successfully delivering (on time, to scope and on budget)
  • Adhering Data quality, Coding standards, Validation frameworks and documentation standards as set out by the - Data Management, Governance and Control team
  • Ensuring any output (data, code, process) is aligned to the ongoing business strategies (i.e. future proofed) 
  • Feeding back on the work completed, issues identified and addressed so a process of continuous improvement is established and maintained
  • Attainment of development QA metrics
  • With the final success metric being the successful handover to the Delivery Team of any newly developed data extraction and reporting process
Ensure that standardised policies, procedures and documentation are all in place so that processes can continue to be efficiently run in the event of your absence.
Support the review and subsequently (where needed) redevelop & rationalise the legacy data and extraction & reporting jobs, code and processes. 
  • Rationalise exiting code & process in line with protocol established by the DMGC manager 
  • Designing & redeveloping those that bring the greatest efficiency improvements to the team
  • Working with the recipient business units to ensure the new code meets their current business goals and is aligned to their future business plans
Standardise routine processes for greater consistency, efficiency and control to deliver quality
  • Review / create process documents that show key steps
  • Review / create prototype programmes, reporting standards
  • Incorporating appropriate check points, decision milestones, interactions
  • Standardised central & standardised Reporting Folder Structure
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
  • Take ownership of your own personal development plan; working with your direct line manage to ensure your development goals and set, monitored and the appropriate training & development put in place
  • Be a Technical Champion for data, SAS, SQL, Excel and all technical data & information related processes
  • Provide guidance & training to others within the Data Office in the areas of analysis, data, data quality, extraction & reporting
  • Share knowledge, best practice, coaching and working within scope of relevant projects
