Job Description Summary

This position will be responsible for the management of the Proposal Unit and process. The proposal unit's ultimate goal is to produce the highest quality proposal material and enhance the efficiency of the sales effort by working with multiple business units to create a customized proposal designed to increase the win rate. Handles all formal RFP's and unsolicited proposals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for all proposal management activities for Business Unit proposals and provides support not limited to develop outlines, work plans , and scheduling.
  • Utilizes Project Management process while working with various business lines within the Bank to ensure all information is submitted, integrated, and formatted for on-time delivery.
  • Carefully reviews all questions and responses to ensure thorough and customized response. Utilizes marketing and writing experience to create persuasive text in proposals.
  • Prior to production, reviews final proposal for grammatical accuracy and consistent formatting to ensure a professional product that encompasses BOTW's brand imaging.
  • Maintains communications with management, offering process improvement suggestions, reporting impediments to the process and challenges faced.
  • Work with Admin Analyst, tracks all solicited and non-solicited RFPs, tracking reasons for wins and losses, learning from losses to increase probability of future wins.
  • Maintains Business Units Proposal Library with updated Q&A as resource for self and entire team.
  • Takes advantage of available training to ensure updated product knowledge. When needed seeks assistance of Admin Analyst, providing clear, concise instructions and expectations, following up to ensure instructions are understood and followed. Provides clear and concise expectations to Relationship Managers when workload requires the RMs take on a more active role. Maintains adequate proposal production supplies, keeping Admin Analyst informed in advance of restocking needs.

Required Experience

  • Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • May have practical knowledge of project management.
  • Requires 5 years minimum prior relevant experience.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Business or Marketing
  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Preferred Skills:


  • 5+ years of  proposal writing experience including organizing, managing, and producing multiple large technical proposals concurrently.

  • Demonstrated  technical project & process management skills including translating complex ideas into readily understood proposals, editing skills at the organizational, structural, sentence, fact-checking and proofreading levels, and ability to develop and implement win themes and understanding of the competitive landscape

  • Experience with graphics (proposal graphics, renderings, communicating complex information through graphic tools)

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams such as with government contracts,understanding and adhering to technical RFP instructions and guidance to ensure compliant as well as strong, elevated, technically superior proposals 

  • Strong creative and technical writing skills, as well as excellent verbal skills

  • APMP certification preferred

    Other SKills : 

  • Thorough knowledge of proposal writing process.
  • Experience in working with and building proposal library.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of products commonly used by government clients.

  • High-level written communication and presentation skills.

  • Lifting maximum of 15 pounds as associated with mailing proposals.

  • Experience in working with and building proposal library.
