The APAC Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) Program is part of an ambitious Group-wide initiative aimed at better protecting the Bank against potential leakage of sensitive information from any Business or Function.

DLP is a top priority for every organization and especially for financial institutions. The number of serious data breaches is on the rise, and APAC regulators are putting increasingly strong emphasis on the need to protect data we are entrusted with.

In a context of stringent risk-control, BNP Paribas continues to invest in Cyber Security and we are taking proactive measures to securely handle client, business, and staff information.

Launched in 2014, the APAC DLP Program is a multi-year initiative aimed to gradually improve the monitoring and prevention of unauthorized transmission or disclosure of our data assets.



Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) depends on a combination of people, processes, and technology as its strategic control foundation. The APAC DLP System Support Manager reports to the APAC DLP Services Manager and has strong software development expertise in different areas. The role focuses on developing & improving DLP application system(s), and maintaining any existing DLP application system which handles encryption of some emails sent out of bank.

This role will be responsible for 3 major areas:


System Development & Improvement

1.A. Direct responsibilities of the APAC DLP System Support Manager

  • Responsible to maintain and improve the performance of existing solution
  • Manage new development on all solution components (frontend, backend, database)
  • Design and update software database
  • Test and maintain software solution to ensure strong functionality and optimization
  • Prepare reference for production teams by writing operating instructions e.g. SOP, etc.
  • Maintain historical records by documenting program development and revisions
  • Interface and work with project team to keep project on track, communicate status, identify and handle project risks
  • Arrange project requirements in programming sequence by analysing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic
  • Estimate development workload to perform new development
  • Remain compliant with internal security risk management practices

1.B. Contributions of the APAC DLP System Solution Design, Implementation and Maintenance


  • Undertake DLP system solution review, and plan for solution implementation if needed
  • Work with Solution Design (3rd party vendor and/or internal functional team) and Architecture teams if needed
  • Suggest improvements to existing solution as necessary
  • Contribute to maintain solution performance
  • Contribute to maintaining a reputation of excellence and professionalism vis a vis all senior management
  • Perform functional and non-functional testing in order to guarantee a robust end-user solution is delivered.


System Operational Support & Maintenance

2.A. User support

  • Provide first level of support to end-users and assist them in case of any queries, changes or incidents.
  • Coordinate with functional users, IT developers and managers in solving solutions challenges and follow through bug fixing.
  • Manage the requests raised by the users and closely follow up the requests and regularly update the users.


2.B. Requirements gathering

  • Provide assistance and work with Project Manager and other Business Analysts if needed, in order to provide functional expertise to define solutions/enhancement that meet the needs of business and operations.
  • Through close interactions with business stakeholders, play the part in business analysis and document business requirements, communicate and explain them effectively to them.


Governance and team management

·        Manage a small team of DLP functions in the areas of system development and operational support

  • Coordinate and involve stakeholders engagement, business analysis, deployment of the agreed model and delivering of clear reporting to APAC DLP Services management team

·        Update and maintain the functional documentation repository with related process, technologies and operational artefact and information (e.g. regular management reports, SOP, System manual)

  • Communicate a clear service management dashboard to APAC DLP Services management team regarding incidents, changes, requests and requirements raised by the system users

Essential skills

  • Application development (Java (Spring boot framework), nodeJS, expressJS)
  • Web UI (Bootstrap, CSS3, HTML5)
  • Middleware Technology (MQ Series)
  • Web Technology (Tomcat, NodePM2)

  • Source code management & DevOps tools (e.g. git, bitbucket, Jira, etc.)

Professional Experience


Minimum 10-12 years of experience in the following areas:

·        Application development and management for an international company, preferably in banking & financial sector

·        Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively

·        System administration on Windows and Unix platforms

·        Ability to manage sub-ordinates as needed




·        Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field



·        Excellent level in verbal and written English is essential

·        Knowledge of French and/or an Asian language is a plus




·        PMP, ITIL, Agile/Scrum, DevOps, CISSP, CISM or CISA certification(s) preferred
