Position Purpose

The trade processing support manager will have a good understanding of the business processes for the domain, the main business actors, and the business drivers. You will complement this with a good understanding of the applications and IT services provided to that domain, as well as the technologies deployed.

The role operates on a global basis and involves management of User Support and Application Production teams responsible for delivering value to the business through managed change in application services, user support and training.

A key element of the role is safeguarding production: the domain manager must ensure that their application production domain is controlled and guarded against security issues and defects by challenging all change proposed by Development or Infrastructure teams in the production environment.

This role reports to the head of GM APS TP and a management support function will also be available in this role.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing a positive relationship with business leaders and key users through regular engagement
  • Delivery of great customer service through listening, understanding and responding to our business needs
  • Smooth day-to-day running of the application domain, with a proactive “keep the show on the road” approach to assuring application availability
  • A tight focus on delivering change to our business with emphasis on high quality timely delivery.
  • Ownership and management of the support processes within the domain
  • Ownership and management of the domain support documentation / knowledgebase.
  • Ownership and management of training materials and training plans for the domain.
  • Management of the team – assessing needs for career development, motivation and training
  • Hiring, budget and headcount management
  • Monitoring of SLAs and customer satisfaction levels
  • Monitoring of application production availability and incidents
  • Providing root cause analysis and action following application incidents or loss of availability
  • Assuring that user provisioning tools are fit for purpose and safeguard access to the production environment.
  • Ensuring that user provisioning processes are clearly documented, understood, and performed accurately within the team.
  • Applying appropriate controls to ensure that all change made in production is authorised, tested/validated, logged, and applied correctly

This role requires

·         The ability to work well with both business and technical domain peers

·         Knowledge of best practice in the support domain (e.g. ITIL / ISO 9001)

·         A strong interest in, and good understanding of, the relevant business domain

·         A good working knowledge of IT production technologies (BNPP core technologies are Microsoft desktops, a mix of Microsoft and UNIX/Linux servers, Oracle Db, Tib/RV).
