The bank for a changing world

We are looking for

Project Manager - APS

Apply REF: BNP017363

Job Title: Application Support Manager – Trade Processing
Group: Application and Production Support (APS)
Department: Fixed Income IT

With operations in 84 countries and more than 200,000 employees, BNP Paribas (www.bnpparibas.com) is a leading European provider of financial services on a worldwide scale. It is one of the six strongest banks in the world according to Standard & Poors and the largest bank in the Euro zone by deposits. It ranks highly in its three core activities: Retail Banking, Investment Solutions and Corporate & Investment Banking.

Department Overview

As one of BNP Paribas Corporate & Investment Banking’s core divisions, Fixed Income offers a comprehensive range of products and services in the global interest rate, credit and currency markets - helping our global franchise of clients to find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as to manage their exposure to risks.

Fixed Income IT and Operations (FI ITO) has over 2,000 staff in 30 offices worldwide, with a scale and reach to conduct business anywhere in the world and deliver products denominated in nearly all currencies.

Fixed Income IT is being re-organised into two core groups:  Development and APS. These groups are further supported by separate regional infrastructure groups. You will be part of the Fixed Income IT APS group, which has over 200 employees, covering User Support, Application Support and Application Production.

Role Overview

The trade processing support manager will have a good understanding of the business processes for the domain, the main business actors, and the business drivers. You will complement this with a good understanding of the applications and IT services provided to that domain, as well as the technologies deployed.

The role operates on a global basis and involves management of User Support and Application Production teams responsible for delivering value to the business through managed change in application services, user support and training.

A key element of the role is safeguarding production: the domain manager must ensure that their application production domain is controlled and guarded against security issues and defects by challenging all change proposed by Development or Infrastructure teams in the production environment.

The role is being created as part of a Fixed Income IT re-organisation which now recognises the APS function as distinct from the Development function.

This role reports to the global head of APS for Fixed Income IT. Staff who will report into this new role include application support team leaders (for each group – FX, IRD and Credit) and a production manager (leading a small team of project managers). A management support function will also be available in this role.
