Our Finance teams are responsible for controlling and reporting all income and spend for each of the business areas. They’re also responsible for developing corporate financial strategy, consolidation and management reporting of corporate data, accounting & cash management, financial controls, and tax management.
What is the job?
As Project Management Accountant, you will provide reporting, planning and detailed analysis to support the business and meeting company reporting deadlines with a particular focus on major transformation projects, Capex and project accounting
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Management Reporting
Cost monitoring and tracking of all capex projects
Ensure Finance Scorecard element of the MyTrend reporting platform is completed in line with required timescales
Develop a monthly reporting dashboard for all MTPs to include project status, Finance scorecard summaries
Prepare narratives required to explain monthly developments and milestones, risks and opportunities to the current forecast
Report back any significant issues or developments to the FP&A Manager
Utilise Hyperion functionality to develop accurate, detailed and fast reporting on MTPs
2. Budget and Forecasting
Assist in production of medium term plans, budgets and forecasts by being specifically responsible for the Capex budgeting process.
Check that budget and reforecast is loaded correctly and maintained within CODA and Hyperion
Checking and challenging the models and assumptions used by in business cases where appropriate.
3. Business Cases
Provide financial support to the Programme Management Office (PMO).
Verification of mandates and business cases for Capex projects
Provide specific business case support for the business, checking and challenging the models and assumptions used where appropriate.
Preparation and submission of project charters for MTPs on the MyTrend reporting platform
Conduct periodic review meetings with Project Owners on key projects
4. Stakeholder management
Leverage strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business and in BNP to deliver required outputs. Key stakeholders include:
o BNP Major Transformation Projects Team
o Project Owners, Sponsors, contributors
Be able to cover the key tasks of colleagues in the Management Accounts Team and be familiar with the P&L to be able to deal with ad hoc queries in the absence of other team members
Understand the other finance functions and how they impact the role
Share knowledge and training within Finance to increase overall effectiveness of the department
Use the right level of communication within the business in order to be responsive and efficient
What are we looking for?
Experience of Management reporting, Budgeting, Financial analysis, Cost reviews with management
Experience in Financial Services sectors, CODA systems and Hyperion would be beneficial
Ability to liaise and influence all levels of management and work with other departments.
Ability to challenge current procedures and make recommendations.
