Job Description Summary


Responsible for translating business requirements into specific system, application or process designs, including working with business personnel and executives to identify functional requirements and in developing business justification.

Essential Job Functions



Responsibilities

  • ·    Provide architecture services for lines of businesses (retail banking, small medium business, wealth or corporate services like risk and compliance). 

  • ·    Promote an architecture strategy for BOW that furthers an integrated customer experience, enables digitalization  and development of common services and capabilities across the BOW enterprise 

  • ·    Define and implement consistent architecture and technology governance practices for BOW throughout the planning and delivery cycles. Provide both technology and architecture oversight and governance as part of this process

  • ·    Lead architecture efforts that promote and implement greater architectural consistency and technology sharing across BOW

  • ·    Understand and promote the role of architectural best practices; communicate effectively with all key constituents and actively promote the needs and benefits of governance, architecture and standards

  • ·    Be a key contributor to the overall technology strategy and ensuring the realization of goals such as reuse, infrastructure simplification, cost management and flexibility

  • ·    Build strong cross-organizational relationships and effectively influence staff across the IT organization and broader enterprise

  • ·    Develop the architecture community within BOW and mentor architects in the development of their skills

  • ·    Define conceptual approaches and solutions architecture for BOW applications and integration among applications and services

  • ·    Create conceptual and software architecture documents using industry best practices for documenting architecture. Consider both business and technical audiences

  • ·    Collaborate with development groups and software vendors to identify and define solutions for complex, global business requirements

  • ·    Collaborate with internal partners to define application standards, conventions and best practices including compliance with security requirements

  • ·    Provide cross-application subject matter expertise for BOW solutions

  • ·    Participate in application capacity planning and facilitate application proof of concepts

  • ·    Oversee the evaluation and selection of 3rd party software packages as well as the design of standard application configuration of these packages

  • ·    Multi-task in complex, global environment while focusing on architectural success of multiple projects

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Technology Solutions/Enterprise Architect
  • Bachelor’s degree in related information technology field
  • Creative thinking and approach, essential to collaboration with BOW customers, product groups and account management to determine solutions that further the business and align with business plans and technology strategies
  • Outstanding analytical skills; able to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources

·        Exceptional communication skills; Highly effective written, verbal and presentation skills…articulate, conveys ideas/points clearly and concisely, comfortable with technical and non-technical audiences

·        Strong facilitation and listening skills

  • Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans
  • Interpersonal skills that lend themselves to effectively negotiating priorities and resolving conflicts among project stakeholders
  • Excellent architecture documentation and modeling skills
  • Strong software development, design and application architecture skills
  • Independent personality who can quickly ramp up, determine plan of actions, resolve issues, and strive towards the goal with minimal assistance
  • Resiliency ability to attain a positive “can do” attitude, work through challenges, maintains composure, and rebound from frustrating scenario while  preserving professional and friendly conduct
  • Ability to maintain a positive and collaborative attitude while working through challenging situations.   
  • Prefer experience in the financial services industry
  • Current with new technologies that offer a modern digital experience

Required Experience

  • Experience with architecting and developing solutions for highly scalable, highly available systems
  • Experience in architecting multi-tiered solutions based on architectural best practices
  • Experience with service oriented architecture (SOA), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technology and other middleware technologies
  • Experience with customer-facing external online front-end architecture like online public and secure-session site, mobile application, online origination
  • Experience with TOGAF Enterprise Architecture
  • Experience with Mobile UI-related technology like HTML5, CSS3, Phone-Gap development framework
  • Experience with Microsoft Technology Stack & Java Technology Stack
  • Experience implementing and deploying cloud technology
  • Experience with Micro Service & API technology
  • Experience migrating applications from Legacy to Cloud
  • Experience with an industry leading Content Management System (CMS) solution, either deploying, implementing, or configuring one
  • Experience with the security aspect of protecting high monetary value and customer-sensitive data
  • Strong strategic thinker with an ability to communicate your vision

Education


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
