Position Purpose

The role is for an opening in the brand new service delivered by BNP Paribas to clients, based on ‘DaaS’ (Data as a Service). This allows BNP Paribas to solve some of the data challenges our clients have by providing an enriched view of their investments. This involves taking feeds from external data administrators and custodians and supplementing these with interfaces allowing proxies, look through, supplementary market data and application of business rules and controls. This ultimately gives clients their investment data in the format and with the detail they need to effectively support their investment process and decisions.


Direct Responsibilities


·    Source security referential data from Data vendors and making sure the data is accurate. Take necessary corrective action if not

·    Monitor Account level positions, advise on the impacts and propose remedial action if incorrect

·    Document, report and resolve functional issues and recommend corrective action where appropriate

·    Work closely with Sydney, Paris and IT teams in the UK

·    Proactively monitor and resolve daily exceptions during the BOR production process

·    Work closely with the clients Investment Data Management team with regards to queries and/or exception resolution.

·    Timely escalation of issues to the concerned parties for quick and proactive resolution of queries

·    Participate in preparation and maintenance of key / standard operating procedures for each process

·    Apply controls and checks from an Operations perspective

·    Monitor workflows and fix gaps through corrective action

·    Support smooth change management aimed at developing, extending, or improving the existing service received by the client

Contributing Responsibilities

·    Contribute in the solution building from an Operations perspective by participating in requirements, functional specifications sessions and other meetings

·    Contribute to the improvement of the process by coming up with viable ways and suggestions that could bring process efficiencies and/or improve the client experience

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·    Strong understanding of financial markets, investment management and asset management

·    Strong understanding on the various instruments in the Capital Markets domain and attributes of these instruments, including OTC instruments and private markets.

·    Practical understanding of market data indices (MSCI, FTSE, ASX etc.), characteristics (dividend yield, PE ratio, duration, etc.), and classification schemes (GICS, BICS, ISO etc.)

·    Strong understanding of performance measurement and the data that goes into a performance system, as well as an understanding of portfolio accounting (ABOR and IBOR construction)

·    Ability to analyse data, propose enhancements / enrichments and advise downstream impacts due to inconsistencies in data

·    Very strong analytical skills which encompasses thinking out of the box

·    Strong innovation skills to build and challenge solutions

·    Strong written and verbal communication skills

Specific Qualifications (if required)

·    Strong MS Excel skills

·    Experience using Middle office systems, performance and risk attribution systems, Bloomberg
