- Global Markets is BNP Paribas’ capital markets business within Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB), delivering solutions across asset classes, and industry-leading services for clients including Institutional, corporate, private banks and retail distribution networks. Our Portugal Platform (Lisbon and Porto) is a major HUB in Europe and certainly unique in the country by its size and its scope of activity, with all Front Office roles present (Trading, Sales, Research, Structuring, Quant & Engineering, Business Dev and Support, Marketing & Client Support, Risk Management, Data Analytics and Machine Learning, among others) We are growing fast with the ambition to become even more relevant for the worldwide activity
Your Main Activities Are
- Business and clients
- Selling G10 Rates products to institutional clients
- Distribution of efficient, automated and systematic market content leveraging on BNP tools, advising clients about short term market changes, liquidity mismatches and trade opportunities
- Ascertain the clients’ needs and calibrate our systematic response (e-trade), helping the client to execute and also to monitor their portfolio
- Understanding how clients choose counterparties for risk pricing and maximizing the chances for BNPP to see trades
- Selling our transactional and product capabilities leveraging on relevant data available (Hit ratios, market trends, volumes and similar)
- Hold regular performance reviews with clients, to ensure our full e trading capabilities are sold properly to the clients and contribute to digitalisation of execution and content distribution
- Promote the Group’s brand, products and services to existing clients and prospects
- As sales MAST services role will be involved in account management where required (onboarding, credit limits and so on)
- Data & Analytics
- Provide clients with market data, prices and other factual information, working closely in collaboration with G10 Desk Analyst team
- Proactively focus on digitalization, automation and in general using data and analytics to improve the client’s journey and the bank’s ability to grow market share
- Look to streamline, automate and digitize as many processes as possible targeting scalability and efficiencies
- Monitor, manage and market e-trading capabilities and performance eg – hit rates
- Use internal (CRM Lite, Tableau) and external (Coalition) sources to continuously benchmark the team and the coverage of the client
- Internal Relationships
- Work in partnership with other sales roles (macro, regional sales, e-sales etc) to deliver the whole BNPP G10 Rates capabilities to clients
- Work closely with G10 rates trading, eCOO office, eC&D, AI and Data LAB , Rates Analyst Desk
- Proactive internal approach (and with the clients) to report on flows and make suggestions to improve our service. Alerts triggered by the BNPP systems will support and as a key user will help improve execution workflows and ecosystem
- Collaborate, liaise and engage with other GBLs sharing best practices relating to efficient market access and client needs
- Build relationships with MO, Risk, XVA desks, among others
- Communicate pro-actively with internal stakeholder, escalating issues as necessary

- Ethical conduct and decision are expected in the role
- A conscientious attitude to client, work and BNPP
- Respecting fundamental risk concepts. Always consider risk in daily activities and abide by the Key Front Offices Responsibilities and G10 Rates Principles and Guidelines
- Understand the market, credit, operational, compliance, legal, regulatory and reputational risks of transactions and relationships
- Direct contribution to BNP Paribas operational permanent control framework
- Attend relevant training courses to maintain appropriate regulatory, products and technical skills
Profile and Skills to Success
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Science, Maths and similar fields
- Business and project management skills to look at the business from strategic angle
- Strong understanding of Bond Markets with general transversal knowledge on financial markets
- At least 2 years of experience in the rolo and ideally experience in derivatives
- Fluency in English both oral and written
- Analytical ability with digital Mindset, competent using data
- Ability to deliver / Results driven with proactivity and client focused (selling techniques)
- Willingness to work harmoniously with others: Business / IT relationship
- Being risk minded and conscious of risks involved in executing trades
- Ability to undertake a number of issues simultaneously is essential as well as the ability to work under considerable pressure

About the Team
- G10 Rates Mast sales services roles will deploy all existing tools and services to enable a high % of automated coverage, playing with it a core role in defining future tools to improve such automated service to clients. Typically this sales role will be facing the individuals at a client whose roles is primarily to source liquidity, efficient market access, pricing and execution – and to gain Best Execution by maximising the efficiency and reducing market slippage on behalf of their investors. Working primarily in short time window, the function of this sales role is to maximize the chance of BNP Paribas seeing, pricing and profitably executing our clients’ transactions
