Junior RM Job Description

Reporting line

•   The associate acts under the supervision of the Managing Directors

•   He reports to the Local head of Corporate Coverage

•   Yearly appraisal from the local head of Corporate Coverage with strong input of MDs based on: assessment of MDs, achievement of objectives (to de defined together with MDs), behavior (compliance, interaction with others, team spirit), personal feedback from local head of Corporate Coverage

 

Key mission & responsibilities: supports Managing Directors and GRMs

•   Supports MDs on KYC process ensuring KYC is in place and up to date for all clients: around 50% of workload

•   Assists MDs and GRMs in the management of relationships with large companies, opening of accounts, with the aim of helping develop the global relationship. Assist in client meetings when appropriate.

•   Supports MDs and GRMs in originating business opportunities: actively assists MDs and GRMs in the preparation of CAPs, briefing notes, etc.

•   Is aware of the client’s agenda and credit strategy communicating this information to relevant parties across the bank.

•   Maintains databases, client data monitoring. Client 1st to be updated weekly to reflect live opportunities in the pipe, deals closed/lost and client visits

•   Support the MDs and GRMs in the preparation of the Budget exercise

•   Can be the point of contact of clients (treasury level) during the absence of GRM

•   Develops relationships within the Business Lines & other support areas (Legal, Client Management).

Industry and client awareness

 

•   Is aware of all impending client events (AGMs, interim and annual results presentations) and company news flow on an ad hoc basis

•   Is aware of relevant industry news flow / events

Presentations / Pitch books

 

•   Prepares tailored Coverage pitch books for client presentations mainly in the Investment banking area together with MDs and business lines

Key competencies required

•   Responsiveness, agility, capacity to adapt to business constraints

•   Rigor, analytical skills

•   Understanding of the KYC requirements and processes

•   Team work and seamless communication: quality of interaction with MDs, GRM and internal interlocutors, especially Client Management.
