ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role involves providing legal advice and to be integrate as the junior member of CIB Legal team, under the supervision of the Head of Legal Department. The principal components of the role are:
- Elaboration of banking contracts and related collaterals,
- Drafting of documents concerning Corporate Governance,
- Guidance and advice on daily business requests/queries,
- Revision of provisions and general terms and conditions applicable to accounts, transactions and payment instruments,
- Management of contractual documentation to set up arrangements with suppliers and providers,
- Supporting other Legal team members on specific projects,
- Advice on proposed and applicable banking laws and regulations.
The Legal team works very closely with the business as well as other teams within CIB Portugal.
Candidates must have a strong
academic background, circa three years experience as a lawyer and should
currently be working in private practice or in an in-house legal function in a
financial institution. Commercial Corporate and Banking laws experience is essential.
Candidates will have to speak
fluent English and possess excellent communication and drafting skills.
Candidates must also be pragmatic, customer centricity minded and be willing and
able to engage quickly and get involved in a dynamic and fast-moving
environment. Ability to speak/read
French is desirable although not essential.
