Team Description

The regulatory reporting department is responsible for the production of regulatory reports and information required to ensure compliance to regulatory expectations as well as other internal monitoring requirements.  Key regulatory authorities in scope include the Federal Reserve Bank, FDIC, various State banking departments, Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of Treasury and others. The department is also responsible for ensuring a sustainable control environment and governance framework around regulatory reporting.
 

Job Description Summary

The Head of Regulatory Reporting Production (Tempe Platform) is responsible to establish a structure and team organization to deliver the requisite services and work products to meet regulatory reporting requirements. The Head of Regulatory Reporting Production (Tempe Platform) is also responsible to ensure that the relevant governance and control framework is established and enforced.

Essential Job Functions
• Manage report production team on a day-to-day basis to produced regulatory reports in-scope for the Tempe Platform
• Work with regulatory report owners and stakeholders to define end-to-end production runbook across all reports, ensuring that all reporting activities are completed in a systematic and timely fashion, meeting pre-defined internal and external deadlines
• Ensure 1st level control framework is established and executed, including continuous review and refinement
• Document and report issues identified during production. Coordinate with stakeholders to determine tactical and strategic solution; following through to issue resolution
• Ensure work papers, procedures and other relevant materials supporting report production are well documented and complete (e.g. analysis, reconciliation results and break resolution, approach changes, review and sign-off, etc.)
• Analyze and synthesize movements in products and variations in reports
• Compile report review package with report owners and Senior Management
• Support production of other ad hoc management updates, analysis, or other research required for change management, automation, and other research / assessment effort
• Establish structure for the department to coordinate and collaborate with other departments, stakeholders / partners to complete report production and other relevant activities such as Internal Audit, Regulatory Review, automation, data quality and testing, etc.
• Provide a formal review and sign-off attesting to the accuracy of the established scope of regulatory reports
 

Other Job Duties

• Participate in projects as required for new initiatives, process improvements or technology implementation and development
• Participate in bank examinations and internal and external audits
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Experience

Requires 10+ years minimum prior relevant experience
• Strong program / project management and business analysis skills
• Ability to build relationships across functions to drive towards a common goal
• Strong analytical skills and advanced technical skills (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Control mindset with strong organization and managerial skills
• Change management and analytical skills
• Ability to build relationships across functional teams, detailed oriented, and strong leadership skills
• Data Analysis and SQL experience
 

Skills

• Previous financial services experience in Public Accounting (i.e., Audit or Consulting)
• Strong regulatory & financial reporting knowledge prevalent in banking/financial institutions
• 5 years of Public Accounting and financial statement preparation experience
• Deep knowledge of Regulatory Reporting requirements, tools and processes; experience in regulatory reporting to key regulators such as the Federal Reserve Bank, FDIC and DFS
• Ability to understand complex financial products and system architectures, accounting business processes, financial and management reporting ( US GAAP), month-end financial close process, regulatory reporting, entity consolidations and multi-currency accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting tools and systems
• U.S. GAAP including recent pronouncements
• Knowledge of FBO and IHC requirements is preferred
• CPA is required
• Axiom experience is preferred

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
