IBA - Real Estate - Director

The main purpose of this role is to cover REF coverage and execution and assist in all real estate related financing deals.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and grow real estate asset backed lending opportunities across APAC with a focus on Greater China
  • Drive the process of real estate financing businesses from origination, underwriting, documentation, loan closing and ongoing surveillance / servicing
  • Deliver budget for REF as discussed and agreed upon with business management and also meet targets for cross-sell
  • Work very closely with Loan Syndication on general and secondary syndication for all approved and closed transactions
  • Assist in driving the process for corporate loans, M&A and event driven financings
  • Expand client coverage by leveraging internal clients network with geographical coverage teams and PWM RMs
  • Strike a balance between pure sponsor groups and corporates for REF clients distribution
  • On regular basis, track, monitor and report portfolio performance, loan compliance etc with guidance from Risk
  • Provide clear guidance and training to the junior team members
  • Guide junior members to create all credit related documents such as term sheet, screening memos, APCC memos etc.

Competencies (Technical / Behavioral)

  • Languages required: English, Chinese and Cantonese
  • At least eight years of Real Estate Financing sourcing, structuring and execution experience
  • Preferably has an established network and credibility with investors and third party professionals
  • Understand very well the risk parameters of each potential transactions and can mitigate the risks through structuring and documentation
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of corporate finance and financing activities related to real estate companies and developers
  • Has team management experience with previous positions
