IBA - Director / Chief Representative - China Coverage (Beijing Rep Office)

Position Purpose

Originating and executing IB APAC transactions and building senior level relationships with designated IBA clients and new clients in China

Responsibilities

Chief Representative of the Beijing Representative Office

  • Supervising Corporate Finance liaison activities and routine work
  • Representing the Bank's Corporate Finance activities on reporting and supervision matters to local PRC authorities, in a liaison capacity;
  • Dealing with any matter which arises from marketing work according to the Chinese rules and regulations
  • Approving all local expenses and payment orders, after validation in Hong Kong, according to procedure.

Client Coverage / Marketing

  • Responsible for senior level relationships with designated IBA clients and new clients
  • To identify & originate business, e.g. Capital Market / Advisory and Corporate Banking transactions
  • To lead & drive deal teams on the origination and execution of mandates
  • Prepare the Relationship Plan (Client Action Plan) and global account strategy together with Product / Sector for designated IBA clients
  • Understanding & update on client's business development, management strategy and banking needs via regular marketing calls at senior levels
  • To prepare & distribute call reports / client information to product lines & management
  • Arrangement & coordination responsibility of marketing calls among various product lines & at different levels
  • To collect updated market and product information for relevant sector and closely work with product lines on new product development

 Other Responsibilities

  • Exposure Management of client groups - to monitor primary and secondary activities & actively manage client's group exposure to achieve the bank's requirement
  • Ensure smooth logistic and closing of transactions within the bank's approval context / policy requirements and within reasonable timeframe
  • Ensure "Know your client" & procure compliance requirements to be met at client / transaction levels
  • Conduct annual budget exercise

Specific Qualifications

  • University graduate with Finance, Business or related major
  • Minimum of 12+ years of working experience
  • Capital market or advisory type of work experience is a must
