Head of RISK ORC, China
The Head of RISK ORC China is acting as the 2nd Line of Defence for all activities carried out in China with the key role to provide relevant RISK ORC APAC and senior management synthetic, transparent, exhaustive, and consistent front to back view of Operational RISK across China’s activities. This role is a Senior Risk Management position with the main objective to reduce Operational risks through control framework adequacy checks, independent challenge, and proximity with the business and contribution to the sign off process on key decisions.
- Assist and advise the 1st Line of Defence in China on the extension of OR framework, and ensure its compliance with Group & APAC guidelines, as well as its appropriate calibration to manage key risk areas.
Support 1st Line of Defence (LoD1) on OR matters in liaison with relevant RISK ORC APAC & central teams.
Proactively supervise the permanent control and the OR measurement& management framework & processes.
Proactively disseminate OR culture (Group & CIB) within China, contribute to LoD1 training, and develop a strong partnership with LoD1 key stakeholders in China.
Establish the generic 2nd level control plan for China – to be run by ORC Transversal Control team & Follow up of KRIs in order to take proper mitigation actions.
Critical analysis on HI collection & follow up on related action plan.
Challenge LoD1 controls and remediation actions plans.
Participation to China’s TAC NAC and sign off on OR
Ensure the correct implementation and application of Group & APAC governance (e.g. in terms of ICC and OR related committees, OR committees, etc)
Comply with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
Ensure audit recommendations are resolved within the specific timeline.
- Act as the key SPOC within the RISK ORC community on related topics (in relation with framework evolutions or RISK management).
Direct contribution to BNPP operational permanent control framework.
Contribute to the implementation of operational permanent control policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities, such as Control Plan.
Contribute to the reporting of all incidents according to the Incident Management System.
Contribute to RISK ORC APAC & global initiatives (e.g. projects).
- University graduate with at least 15 years of relevant experience in risk management, control function, preferably with relevant exposure to consulting or audit background.
Prior experience or practical understanding in previous roles may include but not limited to Front/Middle/Back Office, Operations or Functional role(s).
Preferred candidates should possess robust knowledge of banking products in the area of Corporate Institutional Banking.
In-depth CIB-metier especially Global Markets & CB&A, products and processes knowledge.
Sensitivity and/or experience in operational risk.
Knowledge of Chinese regulatory requirements.
Strong Analytical skills & synthesis ability
Strong interpersonal skills (communication, negotiation, influencing skills)
English: fluent speaking, reading and writing (proficient); Chinese: fluent speaking, reading and writing (proficient)
